" Vincent Tan takes controlling stake in football club "

Tue Aug 31, 2021 11:57 am

This is from Jalil Rasheed, CEO of Berjaya Corporation and a Non-Executive Director at Cardiff City FC, on Twitter:

Today, we (not Berjaya Corp) announced the acquisition of a controlling stake in Bosnian football club, FK Sarajevo (FKS).

The two new controlling shareholders will be TS Vincent Tan & Ismir Mirvic.

Ismir Mirvic is an American Bosnian entrepreneur based in Los Angeles.

Ismir & I (on behalf of the owner) had the privilege of working together past few months charting the way forward for FKS, ushering in a new era.

Thank you to the club, especially CEO Sabrina Buljubasic, chairman Damir Kasum & staff for the work behind the scenes.

I’m pleased that we have Sabrina driving this club, in a sport that has very little female participation in management.

Thank you to Long Cuong Group & Nguyen Hoai Nam for the past two years as owners.

During this time, FKS became league champions, and had the longest unbeaten streak in Bosnian football.

Thank you to the fans who have been very patient during this period.

It took some time, but we got there. Many more we’ll like to share, and that will be communicated by the club.

FKS will become sister clubs to @CardiffCityFC & @kvkofficieel .

I’m thrilled to be working with Ismir, with whom I have built a good relationship over time. Most looking forward to visiting Bosnia.

That would be nice but we’re not in any position to tell him where to concentrate or put his money unfortunately

you didnt....its his money whether its Bosnian football clubs or randy raquel dolls he is into....
but why ? ...the Bosnian league is ranked 35th by Uefa... 1 place above the Luxembourg league and would be even lower if 2nd or 3rd tier teams were included in those rankings ..

Jalil Rasheed is the new board member and part of his brief is strategic financial planning. It seems he has done his job by finding a funding partner for FK Sarajevo.

Maybe he is working on finding a funding partner for CCFC?

Who knows, but he would do his best to look after his club unlike our current owner who is dismantling it brick by brick while the fans watch.

Wouldn't trust sam to sell me a 2nd hand car. Plus he would sell ground if he could just like did @ Wimbledon

Wimbledon were not playing at Plough lane as you know
they had not for years as it was not suitable for premier league football as you know ..
and did sell it to sam at an enormous profit ...as you also know.....

Can we swap Dalman for Sabrina Buljubasic please?

Much easier on the eye and couldn't be much worse as a CEO.

I don't need to 'back it up', as it's there to see, if you care to look in the right places and anything I say will be rebuked by you, fella; you're just a mischief-maker out to 'poh-pooh' anything and everything positive...

Having said that, you are clearly not aware that after Sam moved back to the Middle East, he made some very wise investments in the area and came out with a very wide smile, so to speak...

Equally, your comment (quote): "his last attempt proved" is also well short of the mark, as the backing and funds were in place, the sale provisionally agreed and the ONLY reason it fell through was when the current (temporary) owner found out who was behind the deal...

Believe that or not, it's up to you, fella; but in the absence of anything coming from your side, I suggest you open your eyes and ears and tighten your lips until you know what you're talking about... ;)

I know little about sams wealth, nor unless he was involved in some way with us would I want to, but I'll be truthful, I wish tan and him could find some "middle ground" and work together, as I believe this would be our biggest chance to push on as a club, and cement our place at the top table at last? I don't hate either if I'm honest, they both made bad calls regarding our club, as we all know, so no use highlighting them.

I certainly wouldn't think Sam was poor, by any stretch, but if they combined? Sam dealing with the football and the fans, and tan running the ship, I truly believe that would be the catalyst to continued growth, both on, and off the field.

If carlsberg did partnerships :thumbright: :ayatollah: :old: :bluebird:
