How many Championship teams have 20 goals a season strikers?
Very Very few and far between and for me I value Kieffer Moore at £15mill.
I will be gobsmacked if Kieffer was sold for under £12mill.
I know their are some in here with back the CCFC Committee on anything they do but , let’s be really honest Kieffer is the difference to our club on play-offs or mid table .
Let’s be honest nothing against James Collins but he is not our answer or anyone else at our club we can depend or rely on.
Kieffer was 29yrs old this month.
At least a couple of brilliant years left a d thankfully not injury prone.
I personally think Kieffer is being put out there.

He's probably worth around £10m-£12m due to his age.
But he's no leaving anyway because there's no genuine interest in him, so it's all academic.

20 goal KM gets us close or in the play offs, we would be very lucky to sign a replacement this late and would probably rely on a loan signing.
Lost faith in Dalman Choo and VT a long time ago
Id be very surprised if he is not sold.

i think our resolve will be tested in the january window. The thing is he is 29 and clubs, even Prem clubs have to watch their pennies and 15 million is alot to fork out for a saviour who's never kicked a ball in the Prem or so I hope.

20 goals a season strikers arent needed. we had one last season and we were rubbish, bar a purple patch when MM came in.
if a decent offer comes in for him he will go, 7m sounds about right to me but id like a little more tbh

12m minimum he should be sold for
But preferncebis not to sell if at all possible... but unfortunately strikers have always been hot property and sold by all teams who happen to have one more than a season...

Annis. I've supported city since the 60's and the first time I was really gutted when we sold a player was when Gareth Williams was sold to Bolton. Ever since that time we've sold our best players and you sort of get used to it. KM has to be minimum £10m but will probably go for less.
If we kept him and he did fire us into the play-offs, I dread to think what would happen if we went up. In my opinion there's not one of the current squad that I would want to go into the Prem with, so we'd spend minimum on a few half decent players and probably come straight back down again.
We have a decent crop of youngsters coming through at the moment so I'd rather see us build a squad around them, and have another go at the Prem when they mature a bit and we wouldn't have to buy a complete squad. Comfortable mid table will do me this season, so I wont be too heartbroken if KM went.

Annis
I totally agree with you - but unfortunately I disagree with you where you say "you would be surprised if they sold him for less than £12m"
We have not had a 20 goal striker for a considerable amount of time. With many promoted teams it is THE DIFFERENCE between the Premier League next season or the Championship.
We need to keep Kieffer at all costs - and with others scoring as well - we could have a top 4 side.

Dill,
Fair play to you your hardcore loyalty & great memory
First of all I am big time for youth coming in and always have been

but I do not suddenly believe we have 8 amazing Championship youngsters all at once and McCarthy has been told to bring them all in and play them to save money.
Don’t get me wrong I can 2 or 3 potentially very good ones
Your right if this squad went up, only the goalies would be good enough at best.
But if we don’t make the playoffs then I see season ticket sales way way less than this season , next season.
Fans want to see some ambition and excitement.

Most championship clubs, who dont get promotion, tend to lose their top scorer to another team, its the way things have been for years.
Whilst id be dissapointed if he was sold, every player has a price I think, i dont think he is worth £15m though tbf, I'd say around 7/8m plus giles would be a reasonable deal.
Lastly if he is to be sold, id rather it be done asap, then at least a chance of getting a decent replacement in( if one hasn't already been lined up)

I've said before that 20 goals a season strikers don't grow on trees every time someone says "we need a 20 goal a season striker" like anyone can go to Sainsbury's & pick one off the shelf.
I also think people are getting carried away with one season of 20 goals, the same happened when Zohore had his purple patch & everyone was screaming that selling him would show the board lacked ambition. Moore is probably worth somewhere between 5-8 million depending on what someone wants to pay and anything over 10 million would be daylight robbery.
All just an opinion obviously.

He's one of those players that is probably too good for the Championship but not good enough for the Prem. He should justify a fee of about 10m purely for the guarantee of goals. I don't think he'll move.

I do not think that Keifer is going anywhere, I do think though, that there will be last minute bids for him, but unless it is around the £10m plus mark I believe that the commitee will turn it down, that is unless MM can get the player that he is interested in!

It seems pretty clear that Moore wants a crack at the Prem and at 29 this could be his only shot.
Whilst I appreciate he’s under contract if he says he wants to go and we say “no” how likely do you all think it is that he’ll get 20 again this season ? He’ll feel naturally aggrieved and won’t be happy.
If we got an offer of £15m he’d be gone tomorrow, but, more realistically, an offer of £7-£8m would probably do it.
It would be sad and a major loss but it’s not just the club calling the shots.

pretty clear...?
most players would jump at the chance of playing at a higher level and most likely earning more money..... but he is under contract so its not down to him how much our club would consider reasonable compensation....
as for the aggrieved stuff.... just no , where would be any gain for him......its part of football and happens all the time...

Will be disappointed if we don't get at least the 8 million west brom paid for zohore, let's face it we would of made 6 million profit on moore in one season if we get 8 million which would be amazing

I wouldn't be surprised if he goes before the deadline for a fee around £5 million which wont be reinvested. We can subsequently forget the play offs
But let's face it they are a lottery in any case

We agree to pay£15 for Sala a £1m Striker before one good season with Nantes so I’d put Kieffer in same price bracket however I’d prefer £10m plus Giles who will become a £20m player!

He's going to Norwich, then...?
Thankfully, he appears to be going nowhere and he'll be a footballing (rather than a financial) asset for us this season...

Annis in my opinion mitrovic is a much better championship player than keifer.but fails in the premier league. I feel keifer would be the same
Fri Aug 27, 2021 5:25 pm
Keiffer did score 20 goals .
He lacks a lot of fineness.
Not Premier quality.
Fri Aug 27, 2021 5:30 pm
A 29 year old, 20 goal a season AT CHAMPIONSHIP level is not a 20 goal a season scorer at Prem Level. Refs always give the free kicks against him too, especially at international level.
If sold, it should be around the 10 mil mark...either 8 mil rising to 10 with add ons, or even better 10 mil rising to 12 with add ons
