Cardiff City manager Mick McCarthy believes the injury to Sean Morrison is not "disastrous" after the skipper left the pitch in the first half against Brighton.

Morrison went down near the touchline early in the first half of the Bluebirds' 2-0 Carabao Cup defeat by the Seagulls after he landed awkwardly while making a challenge. He managed to get up and carry on for a short while, but just after the half-hour mark he sank to the floor again and sought medical attention.
It was decided that Morrison would be taken off, with young Oliver Denham coming on to make his senior debut for the Bluebirds in his stead.
The Cardiff captain trudged straight down the tunnel with the physio, which prompted many to fear the worst.
However, while McCarthy admitted the club will not know the full extent of the injury until Wednesday, he does believe the problem is not too sinister.
MICK McCARTHY:
"He just caught his knee, he sort of slipped on the astroturf," McCarthy said of the injury after the match.
"We will see. Tomorrow will tell us better, but it's not disastrous, he's not got any major injury apparently, which is the good news.”
"We will see how he is tomorrow."
“We are lucky we have strength in depth in our squad.”
McCarthy fielded a much-changed side against the Premier League outfit on Tuesday evening, save for the three centre-backs, all of whom kept their place from the weekend win over Millwall.
That might well have been down to lack of options over anything else, with only the uncapped Denham fit enough for the bench.
Both Mark McGuinness and Ciaron Brown have been out with ankle injuries for more than two weeks now, but were expected to make a comeback this weekend when the under-23s take on Peterborough United on Sunday.
However, should Morrison's injury prove worse than initially thought, they might be needed the day before when Bristol City come to visit for the Severnside derby on Saturday lunchtime.
"Both of them trained [on Tuesday] and both were expected to travel for internationals," McCarthy said of McGuinness and Brown.”
"The plan was to play them on Sunday in the under-23s, but if Sean's injured then that will be moved forward, for sure."
