Flint key to goals Cardiff have been missing
Flint has scored goals wherever he has played.
He netted a remarkable 38 while at Bristol City, while earlier in his career he notched eight in 79 games for Swindon.
Neil Harris had sent Flint off on a full season loan to Sheffield Wednesday, during his time an injury brought Flint back and from their Flint has shown why Neil Warnock signed him for Cardiff.
On Tuesday night, the towering defender converted his sixth and seventh goals in a Cardiff City shirt and some will hope that is a pre-cursor for what is to come this season. Especially if we consider the point made above.
The Bluebirds were ultra-reliant on Moore last season. The Welshman's 20 goals got Cardiff to the verge of the play-offs. He needs help this time around.
And Flint, although it seems a lot to expect from a centre-back, could seriously tally up some numbers this season. He has looked like scoring in every game so far.
It is not an exaggeration to say that the centre back has the ability to chip in with potentially double figures this season if he continues to look as dangerous as he has done for the opening three fixtures.
With Cardiff playing to his strengths, too, him, Moore and Morrison all appear to be horrible to defend against when the ball is bombed in aerially.
MICK McCARTHY:
"He's huge, isn't he?" McCarthy said of his centre-back after the match.
"I thought he could have been at the far post for one in the first half off Gilo's (Ryan Giles) corner, he said he got blocked.
"But we had a bit of panic stations, they scored two, I don't know why because I thought we handled the first half particularly well.
"But we had cross after cross after cross in the final 10 minutes and you are always going to fancy Aden or Sean or Kieffer to get their head on it.
"Flinty was excellent."
