The 'dreadful' Thompson tackle
Arguably the moment that sparked Peterborough and their fans into life came during a flashpoint just before half-time.
As Marlon Pack and Posh defender Nathan Thompson raced towards a 50/50 tackle in the middle of the pitch, it looked like there would be a heavy collision.
Thompson got there first and flew through both the ball and Marlon Pack. Astonishingly, Thompson then lay prone on the ground as though he had been injured, but it was clear to see it was the Posh defender's studs which caught with Pack on the follow through.
Referee Tom Bramall, who had a poor game by all accounts - he was far too hesitant and reliant on his officials -y bizarrely sided with Peterborough and brandished a yellow to Pack.
He also booked Aden Flint, who made a beeline for Thompson and screamed in his face on the floor for having the audacity to feign injury after he had inflicted such a poor challenge on Pack.
And Mick McCarthy was clearly unhappy with the Posh man's challenge after the match. Rightly so, too.
"It should have been [the other way around], it was an awful challenge," McCarthy said.
"I thought he went in and tried to follow through.
"It was an awful challenge, dreadful, dreadful challenge, and he should have been booked."
