Mick McCarthy confirmed Marley Watkins will leave Cardiff upon the expiry of his contract.

Watkins has still injury problems and was pulled out of last nights squad away at Posh.

It also means Mark Harris, who has been looked at by Fleetwood and Rotherham, will stay at the club and not be loaned out.

We are already carrying Lee Tomlin, Issaac Vassell, I can’t believe we even contemplated taking on another injury prone player after Jonny Williams past season.

Pleased that Harris is staying, he offers us a completely different option. Whereas both Moore and Collins are similar players.

Whereas I’m not convinced that Harris is championship standard I agree that he offers a different sort of threat to the 2 main strikers we have and this was very much evident v Posh. Under the circumstances, I’m glad he’s staying if Watkins was going to be his replacement.
