I see that after Wednesday you can only buy a digital ticket for the game on Saturday.
Does this mean we are going to have a repeat of the fiasco on Tuesday night when you couldn't buy a ticket from the booth outside the ground but had to queue up at the ticket office for half an hour? Can anyone explain why an earth those in charge of ticketing seem hell bent on making it as difficult as possible to go to the game?
I fear that this is going to really hit the walk up crowd which is really disappointing when we have made such a good start to the season.

I understand that a minority will struggle with the tech but it’s really not hard to figure out. It’s the way the world is heading, so we will need a little educating on digital wallets. It will benefit people passing on unused tickets as the barcode can be sent digitally. Pros and cons I suppose.

Digital wallet - oh dear

You can shove your digital ticket up your arse.
Let the young uns have their tickets on their bloody iphones or whatever but don't discminate against us old farts by doing away with paper tickets and season ticket cards!

Paper tickets are available. There are positives for using both. I can’t see what the issue is. No one is forcing digital tickets but it’s a handy option to have.

And the new season ticket cards are doubling as payment cards that can be used by linking your VISA card. I'm sure I read that there will be benefits for paying using these? Hopefully cheaper beer... some will still moan!! Haha

It's a digital ticket.
A little inconvenient but so what? It's not like they're asking everyone to do 50 star jumps before they can go into the crowd.
My ticket for Saturday is a digital one and it doesn't bother me. Actually chose that option instead of paying £2 for it to be posted out.
As for the walk up, the majority will be aware they'll have to get to the ground a little earlier anyway. Won't have a huge impact.
But, as we just put in a good performance and got a good result, I suppose people have got to find something else to moan about.

Paper tickets are not available after Wednesday according to the club web site and thats my point, they are being forced on us. Whats wrong with just turning up at the ticket booth and buying a ticket with good old cash. Takes ten seconds to deal with.

Putting in a good performance by the team means that we shouldn't criticise the ticket office for the chaos that was caused on Tuesday and for expressing concerns that the club are alienating a large section of the older support in particular.

It doubles up as a visa debit card. You'll have to preload your card with your own money then by using that as a payment card you'll get rewards for your 'loyalty'
Changing things is fine, but there should always be a transition period. If dispensing with paper tickets altogether is happening then it will alienate a large section of our fanbase.

I think paper tickets are available, just not being posted after Wednesday. There will be paper tickets at the ticket office, so no alienation.

Have the new season tickets been sent out then?

In the continued absence of any threads headed "Mine's Arrived!" my guess would be that they've not been sent as yet.
We'll probably get told on Thursday that this game will also be digital tickets

I am underwhelmed by the general level of poor quality at the City, when it comes to basics like buying something straightforward as a season ticket.
I got charged full price despite the Bluebirds credit and still no resolution.
A trip to sort it in person is obviously on the cards

Ned, my understanding is that the decision not to issue paoer tickets after Wednesday is partly due to the logistics of guaranteeing delivery before the game; although I understandpre-ordered tickets can be collected via the usual stadium booths
For those resisting 'change', I'm afraid it is the way forward in this digital and carbon-saving age...

Yes I believe you are right. What concerns me is that there is no repeat of last Tuesday when people turning up without tickets had to queue for at least half an hour to buy one from the ticket office when all they had to do was sell them from the booth like they used to.
If they are understaffed they could always get some of the sick notes such as Tomlin to make themselves useful and man them.
Tue Aug 17, 2021 5:42 pm
They definitely need those booths back. Club were probably hoping everyone would buy online so they wouldn’t have to employ more people. They were clearly wrong
