Blackpool boss Neil Critchley said:
"I don't think we deserved anything from the game. The best team won.
"They made us play their type of game, asked us a lot of questions, pinned us back... and we were happy to be 0-0 at half time.
"It didn't change and they deserved to be winning. We had a really good spell at 1-0 and if we scored, who knows?
"They scored a fantastic counter-attack goal and you can accept that when you are pushing forward. But over the 90 minutes, we didn't do enough."

I thought the same when I read his comments yesterday. None of this ‘we were the only team in it’ or ‘all their chances came from our errors’ rubbish. Refreshing to read.

Fair play to him, good assessment of the game.
Read up on him for the match thread
He's had a decent career path, having managed Liverpool Under 23s before taking over at Blackpool. Even took charge of a couple of Liverpool games when they played their Under 23s in the cup.
He's done a good job at Blackpool already and I'm certain he will go on to be a great manager.

Spotted honest manager thought it referred to our Mick.

Its refreshing to hear a managers honesty. The players should respond better to that sort of appraisal.
The Villa manager Dean Smith was similarly honest after the defeat by Watford yesterday.

Dean Smith seems like a decent bloke, always honest with he comments after matches. Managing the club he's supported all his life and good luck to him

Nuno is another who's always honest. His backroom staff at Wolves were a bunch of pricks at times but got a lot of time for Nuno. Wish him luck at Spurs and glad he got a good start today.
