9 years to the very day... Miller's Goal

Wed Aug 11, 2021 9:59 am

Nobody expected City to go to Upton Park. Malky Mackay's patched up Squad was not given a chance.

Last minute, up pops Gestede on the right hand side. He puts the ball behind Miller who somehow gai s control of the Ball and fires it past the West Ham keeper. 0-1. The couple of thousand fans behind the goal went mental.

What a fantastic start to that season.

Great season that was.

Got to the League Cup final.

Got to the play-offs but were beaten by West Ham in the semi-finals.

Then it was all ruined by Vincent Tan turning us red.

Great moment, we lost Bothroyd, Chopra, Burke, Bellamy that summer and we had a new manager who was not well known. 2011-12 we ended up surpassing expectations big time and in many ways I remember it more fondly than the promotion year because of the incredible cup final run and overachievement.
