The best part of last nights win 3-2 over Sutton United was Josh Murphy coming on and scoring. I still say a Josh Murphy full of confidence would be a real threat to the opposition and would make us much more attack minded.
The pace and skill he has when he plays well is also what we are missing badly.
I would like to see him have a good run of games .
It’s now or never for Josh Murphy with City

Totally agree, when he’s causes mayhem…… c’mon Josh you can do it.

Agree 100%. It’ll stop defences playing such a high line against us too.

Agree.
When he's confident, he's a a huge asset to us.
Problem is he always seems to start the season well or do well when a new manager comes in but then fade.

I've been very critical of him previously, but for good reason.
People keep saying give him a run of games, etc., Yet when he gets a run of games he'll have a couple where he looks good and then quickly fades away and becomes a passenger and simply not worth his place and he's played under 3 managers now so it's difficult to blame the manager !
He has all the ability and pace in the world but doesn't seem to have the application to go with it.
We're now crying out for some creativity and it really is his last chance to make it with us. I hope he does, because with him and Giles flying down each wing and Moore/Collins in the middle things would look very positive for this season.
I hope this isn't another false dawn for Murphy, time will tell.

Agreed, we saw how good Giles was on Saturday, imagine an on form Murphy on the other wing.

He needs a good partner who will sometimes overlap and take a fair share of the defensive work, he was brilliant last year with Bennett when Mick first arrived and part of the reason we won so many games. Without Bennett I'm not sure we will get the best of him, and teams will attack and score down our left hand side as they did on Saturday!
We need a solid leftback/wingback!

It was the most important part of the night for me too.
To come on and make so many decent runs, and score, was great to see, especially as josh hadn't been fit for most of pre season.
Big big season for Josh.
I also think he could be one of the best players in the division if we can use him correctly and if he can maintain confidence.

Personally I think we went backwards when Bennett got injured, I think it's our weak position.

We need to offer Joe Bennett a say 6 month contract , kidding him badly and I got told yesterday he would jump at it now to prove himself

I hear we offered him a 12month contract and he wanted a 2yr one. That was the main sticking point.
Obviously he needed to take a hit on his salary also.
I agree, City should jump at the chance to open talks with him and secure a new contract now.
