Marley Watkins has signed a short term contract with Cardiff City.

The contract runs until the end of August and he will make his First Team competitive debut in Tuesday's game at home to Sutton United in the Carabao Cup First Round.

Seems a waste of money tbh if only until end of August, could have used a youngster instead, I get he could earn another deal but surely he must have seen enough in training by now if he's good enough or not

Agree seems a pointless signing. This is a player who was not good enough to play for Bristol City over three seasons why on earth bother to sign him. Surely we should be giving the youngsters a chance.

I think you have misunderstood, Vassell has been steeling a living from us for the last couple of years - just like he did at Brum.

My sarcastic was simply to demonstrate the highly likely outcome - that Vassell will play for 1.5 games and then go down injured for the season. Marley will cover the remaining period of August while Vassell sits on his sicknote

Bizarre. The last time Marley Watkins scored two goals in a season not a match was the 2016/17 season. Not complaining but that is seriously weird. Was actually quite a decent player for Barnsley for a couple of seasons but it was a long while ago and he has done nothing since.

There’s an article knocking around with quotes from Mick. Can only play trialists in two friendlies and one of those MW was carrying a knock. So he’s done this as an extension of his trial if you like.

It’s nothing like Williams as I saw mentioned as they have given him one month.
