TODAY'S TRIBUTE TO OUR 'WHITTS'

Sat Aug 07, 2021 2:19 pm

A sad but wonderful pre-match tribute and minutes silence to those Bluebird supporters who have sadly passed away since we were last here was ended with an impromptu round of applause when some images of the late, great Peter 'Whitts' Whittingham were shown ion the big screen

On the stroke of 7 minutes into the game the whole stadium stood in an emotional and rapturous round of applause for 'Whitts' and a huge banner was passed through the crowd

A fitting tribute to a genuine 'City Great' and tge club have promised there is more to come

Let's hope...

RIP, Whitts and all other recently departed Bluebirds :notworthy: :ayatollah: :bluescarf: :bluebird:

Sorry to hear that, Paul. Hope you feel better soon

Been a franetic start and either side could be in front but both sides appear to have a 'Bacuna' who finds it easy to miss from close range! :laughing6:

Canton and Ninian pretty full but not so Grand and Earky Leavers Stands

Estimate 15k+ but nowhere near 20k

And worries about ticketung and queues, mate...

Have to say I got in easily enough, the barcodes worked and the queues were short and speedy

Some won't like this but credit to the City stadium staff before and during today's game

They all deserve a round of applause...   :ayatollah:

Thanks for the OP and pics Chris. It was an emotional moment on 7 minutes and I thought the tribute was superb by us fans.

We are a funny bunch on this board but whatever our individual views, we all unite together as City fans, and that wonderful tribute to Whitts was testament to that. :bluebird:
