As much as I want him to stay, £9 - 10 M is a good price.

Sell him and can forget promotion and will alienate fans.... be probably clubs poorest decision in many years...

Keep him at any price?
Just being realistic.

Possibly a reason why we've not seen him at all in pre season?

Perhaps the club don't want the only playing asset of any real value that they have to get injured and potentially lose out on a lot of money for him.

I know times are hard with Covid and all that but I would be very disappointed if we weren't looking to get at least £8m from a club in the (still) money rich Premier League.

What price promotion? Every player as his price but when that player is basically your only proven striker ? sell him and wouldn't be surprised to see us struggling in bottom half of table especially with MM way of playing ....

I've been dreading seeing a headline like this. £8mill+ and he'll be sold. Shit for us if he goes but the club aren't in a position to turn down good money or hang on to players capable of performing in the prem. I was expecting a drab season of football anyway. If he does go we could be in for a very long season.

He hasn't featured in pre-season because has given a break after the Euros.

Same with Colwill, who played his first game of pre season with the Under 23s today. He's not going to put Moore in the 23s.

Both only very recently came back to training.

I would be surprised if he joined Burnley, they have been trying to bring in a different striker and are reportedly close to a deal.

I can see him staying until January at least, can't see anyone paying £8m for him right now.

I would value moore more than 10 mill about top scorer in the championship and missed a few games and service was'nt brilliant
but in a team with good service he will bang them in not saying he was anywhere near the guy from brentford who signed for villa but that was 30 million plus so 10 for moore is nothing madine was 6 mill zohore went for 8 mill
Granted moneys tight or so we are told but keeping moore to me is essential or at least till jan window and see where we are .

The most obvious play by Cardiff.
As soon as he scored in euros, I said he was off.

Should be 15 million or don't sell.

The desperation on vassell, buying Collins. HRK rumours etc,
This is soooo Cardiff.
If Collins stays fit and scores 15 plus, then all will be forgiven
If not, the stadium will be a grizzle fest again.....

Of course you may well be right and I hope you are.

Personally I would have liked to have seen him get a few "minutes in the legs" in today's u23 game because the longer it goes before he gets match fit the longer we are without him and along with Morrison they are the two players who we really need to play as often as possible.

Any links to the rumours mate?

He could of course get injured at any time but any chance of any sort of success this season hinges on Moore scoring goals. Given how he arrived here I'm sure he is not a heavy earner making it even more stupid to sell for anything other than silly money. Which for a club buying from Premier league has to be more than £10 million for a player they are hoping will score goals. Sadly if he does go its down to excessive fees and wages being paid to the Vassels, Tomlins, Packs and Flints of the squad.

Quite a strange link but Keiffer Moore for 8m no idea where link has come from just been sent the Cardiff forum where they are discussing it.

I am assuming it’s complete nonsense

Mate, do we 'need' the money in real terms...? :?

It may sound a lot of money but personally I think not, given the owner we have and to do so (remembering it's currently just a rumour) would send out a loud and clear statement of (lack of) intent by our club

This already tough season would become even tougher and any thoughts of promotion would (IMHO) disappear with him

Fair points.
As you say, I’ve not seen anything other than completely unfounded rumours yet.

I am old enough to remember the same scenario when Toshack was sold in NOV 1970...IF... Moore gets sold it shows the lack of ambition by this club
the club is running down now depending on freebies and kids
I know times are hard but the only way to recover is promotion ..you don t need to spend millions just keep what you have...the other way will set us back years

TBH , Burnley out of all the PL teams are the only team that would suit KM. What I mean by that , the only team where KM would play as a starter in most games , not as a plan B !
So hopefully its only , someone randomly making an educated guess !!!

Morrison in an interview does not think Moore will be leaving . Personally if I was VT, say £10m/£15m for moore now or the possibility of £100m in the premier. Vt is a businessman, I think that he would be thinking about this scenerio.
Obviously £15m might be too good to turn down. Myself I do not think that he will be sold, especially with the plans VT has for city  ;) :ayatollah:

In my opinion VT will either sell the Club or let the Berjaya group take it over :ayatollah:

Selling the club; he would only be happy doing it if he knew the Club would prosper and I don’t see anyone with money out there or the inclination to buy us or anyone he will like.

The other option is to let us go under the ownership of the Berjaya group ! We might have seen the start of it with the name on the shirt and also the recent addition to the board? He would also be happy because in his mind he’d know the Club would prosper.

Berjaya are a big company and taking us over could be seen as a coup.

Time will certainly tell us that’s for sure. :bluescarf:

Exactly Karl, it certainly would be a big coup for VT to put us under the Berjaya group umbrella, this new guy has been brought in to oversee City moving forward, make of that what you will, I know what I think.

His resume is quite excellent. It does seem that VT is in it for the long run, even if he was not, like you I really cannot see anyone with the money and ambition to take us over.

Jalil currently serves as the Group CEO of Berjaya Corporation, based in Malaysia. Jalil will help to direct the Club in all strategic decision making and planning, working closely with Tan Sri Vincent Tan, Chairman Mehmet Dalman and Executive Director & CEO, Ken Choo.

Jalil has 18 years of distinguished investment career globally, with firms such as Abrdn & Invesco in senior leadership roles in Europe & Asia. Jalil was also Group CEO of Malaysia’s state investment fund, PNB, the youngest to helm the role at 37 years old.

Roger,

I don’t think it’s because VT has lost interest I believe it’s health issues and he doesn’t want to leave it up in the air if something happens.
