Can Giles replace Wilson?

Sun Aug 01, 2021 6:11 pm

Giles has looked very impressive pre season and I think he will be the player to contribute the most assist and chip in with goals..

I didn’t see the Southampton game but someone said he played in tomlins position and with tomlin not reliable and colwill very unproven and someone we’ve not really seen, do you think he could step in and play behind the strikers?

Quite shocking we haven’t brought in a play maker for the midfield as we lack creativity already.. getting rid of ojo and Wilson I was hoping we’d see a bit more attacking talent but hopefully we can still pull something out of the bag and get someone in.

Not wanting to nit pick too much. But we didn’t get rid of ojo and Wilson. Their loans ended.

Not seen enough of Giles. But will always back a city player of they are giving 100%

Yes Giles does look a very good option for the left hand side.

Where we might miss Wilson is at set pieces as he was an excellent free-kick and corner taker.

I don't know if Giles has this in his locker?

I was very disappointed in Wilson set pieces last season tbh he wasn't up to his normal standards

I know it was only pre season but his crosses look like they'll pay more dividends than anything else we've had for a while.

I dont agree I just thought he was off on his all-around game ,corners, free kicks ,was frustrating to watch him not beat the first man on his corners as I know he was better than that .

this first man stuff.... used to read it all the time on here about Whitts mate... any fool can lob an easily defended corner that doesnt hit the first man into the box....

He kept falling short on his corners not going past the start of the 6 yard box ,so didn't beat the 1st man should of mixed it up a bit ,like I said frustrating coz his delivery for wales and othe clubs was much better

For a talent that Wilson was alleged to be I felt he didn't always deliver, we may find Giles will be more of a regular steady Championship type player .

Im sure Wilson's progress at Fulham will be watched with interest by many City fans.

Wilson came with a very good reputation but only played well in 1 in 3 games,so basically if Giles plays well in 2 in 3 games he’s eclipsed him. SIMPLE :occasion5:
