It's a complete joke, I served there and most soldiers who got killed or seriously injured were tasked with dominating and controlling the ground with reassurance patrols. IED's caused massive damage and now to see the Taliban taking all the ground back that so much blood was spilt on is gut wrenching. No invading force will ever controll Afghanistan, I thought history would educate the politicians however money will always be the Victor.

China are now sneaking in through the back door and effectively control all the infrastructure and road rebuilds whilst at the same time doing deals with the in seat government and the Taliban without a single military presence in site. Crafty fuckers those Chinese. Meanwhile the West will continue to lambast the Taliban and rightly so but continue to support Qatar which is the home of Taliban political HQ and support a football tournament that no fucker is going to go to.

There has never been a country that has gone to war in Afghanistan and won - plenty have tried and all failed.

I had an acquaintance that was basically in Iraq a few weeks after that war was 'won' - he was executed on the street betwwen baghdad and the airport.

Tony Blair should be on trial for the crimes he committed. Iraq gave us ISIS as a consequence. Afghanistan was pointless other than the death of Bin Laded - who was in Pakistan.

Within 6 months Afghanistan will have reverted back to the Taliban and the heroin trade will be back in production. No education for women, Shariah law in place and various 'warlords' fighting each other for no other reason than who has the longest beard.

Without wishing to get into the politics, a military mental health nurse I spoke to believes the fall out of this conflict and the Iraq campaign from a mental health perspective could unravel over the next decade or two.

I’m lucky as I’ve only ever had one flash back, which was from an incident in Iraq 2003, but interestingly, it didn’t happen until 16 years later. I wouldn’t wish it on anyone, including my brother (ex Army) and some of my mates who I often speak to about their PTSD. Sadly, this has and will probably cost more lives and despite not being directly KIA, could theoretically be added to the figure above.

I’m genuinely fine by the way, but am concerned for others and watching members of my own section mentally breakdown has been difficult.

Watching Cardiff City helped my brother and I as we felt part of something. It’s more than just watching the football, it’s the whole social gathering (whilst wearing the same uniformed replica shirts) and we often joke that our walk turns to a strut on match day. I was on 48 notice to move for Iraq and went through Afghanistan.

My old man always said if anything happened to me he wouldn’t have rested until Blair saw justice. Sadly there are lots of family etc in that boat who did lose people.

hospital admissions for covid are higher now than they have been since early March and much higher than this time last year.. ... the 20k was a made up figure that there is no evidence to back it up...just someones guess/ estimate/ mistake.... all 3 have become regular and for some reason believed and repeated...

The ‘vaccine adverse reaction statistics ’ (VAERS in US speak) numbers are published by the UK Govt, the US Govt and the EU. These include deaths and other ‘adverse reactions’ which have been medically ascribed to the various jabs. I believe I am correct in saying that to date, the total deaths for all three is something like 20,000. And that’s the officially reported numbers.

No record of how many have already died and will die and suffer due to the withdrawal of service but that’s ok? Just a blip? Collateral damage? It needn’t have been so.

It is now pretty clear that these ‘jabs’ do not prevent infection and no evidence that they reduce the symptoms/adverse effects. We are simply told the latter applies but who can really tell? Many reports over the last couple of week that the majority of cases/hospitalisations are of ‘double-jabbed’ people. It was also admitted that (from memory) at least 40% of earlier hospitalisations were infected in hospital (long NHS history of this kind of thing).
We don’t yet know the medium and longer term effects of these injections which could be very serious. And yet they want to dish out boosters!
