Lets hope these new 1st team players get the support from us .and develop into top championship/premiership players .I remember an article a few years ago in which Bellamy said there was a lot of quality in the academy in all age groups ,looks like he was right.

are you serious ? this is not a case of academy players stepping up and pushing out seasoned pros its a financial decision...end of last season our bench was full of kids but they had not pushed anyone OFF the bench ,it was the squad was thin and was all we had....
christ mate we would all like a Rambo or an Earnie... who actually did have to force their way in but dont go making stuff up....

long-term investment than splashing out crazy amounts needed to buy in all the skills that we need from season to season.

Where have I made up that any of the academy players has push anyone off the bench ? Mind you ralls had came into the academy and then into the 1st team recently, The fact is we in the last few years are blooding the Accademy kids and that is a a good thing long term ,us as a club cannot keep paying crazy money and going further into debt . Look at the academy it's improved 10 fold over the last few years ,we need Accademy status 1 so we don't get another motondo moment again .I'm pleased with the progress that is being made and the future looks brighter .

Let's just hope we can get up to Academy level 1 so that we can make it more effective and not lose out as we did with Matondo.

We are giving these Acads a chance due to the fact we have to. The next few months will answer some questions.

Absolutely.
You can bring in 2-3 players, but to throw in up to 10 hmmmmm?
This is about low low low wages not about bringing through quality

Of the players recently brought through, albeit players like Bagan, Sang and Brown not being directly from our own youth academy, it is a good sign that we have some good player identification at that level. None of those players have let us down.
As a club, we do far better developing players with lower transfer fees. It takes away that level of expectation and gives them room to grow.
Much of our season hinges on the development this season of players like Colwill and Bagan. Colwill in particular looks like he could be quite a unique player with his physique. I don't want to get too carried away by him, he is yet to score or assist a goal as of yet, but you'd like to think those first few goals for him will really push him on.
Whilst we are clearly cutting costs and not just brining youth through, there are lots of free agents/loans that the club could sign relatively cheaply, but there is an element of trust that we'll be okay with what we have got. Mick may be looked on by us as Toshack has been for Wales![]()
