Have you ever been to Middlesbrough? It's like Swansea of the North, so any excuse to get away... :laughing6:

On a serious note, congratulations to them; proper supporters at the 'Boro (unlike Swansea) and stick with their team through thick and mainly thin...

I've worked akongside some great guys from that part of the world and you're right; tough, uncompromising and passionate about their football club

They make great friends but woe betide anyone who crosses them...

Boro fan here, Yes we are no better no worse than any other fans, when were on the up crowds are when not so up they drop.
The 80's were a strange time look at any clubs figures for that period, anything over 20k was very big for all but a few clubs. Hooliganism had just about killed football coupled with that we were def on the way down, hitting the then 3rd div for our 2nd only season that low. In my time since 74 I've seen 40k crowds at Ayresome and 4k crowds, many seasons in a row of 30k averages when we moved to the riverside, now after a bit of a slump we at around 20k. these are just the ups and downs of most clubs, besides it makes life interesting.

your right about it not being the most gentile of places.
