Neil Warnock: ‘Sol telephoned me to say he’d moved back to Leeds since his release from Cardiff and asked if I'd help him.”
“Sol was stuck to know what to do next or who would give help get fully fit again.”
I’ve known him years, he’s a good lad and after everything he’s been through, this is the least I can do. We wish him well. No doubt he’ll get as fit as he can.’
“Hopefully we can help on as he trains with us.”

With his physique, he'd probably get a job at the CIA...
You picked up on others claiming Sol has been 'quiet' regarding his time at Cardiff City when the reality was he said his goodbyes to his team mates. I recall he had already said thank you to the fans for their support during his recent battles
He probably just wants to recover fro his trauma and get on with his life, which sadly isn't to be at our club
He deserves that rather than being berated and 100% credit goes to Neil ap Warnock for helping out

The club made the right decision in not offering him a new contract.
Unfortunately there can be no room for sentiment when it comes to player contracts.

I feel as a club we could have offered him something. Maybe reduced terms or pay as you play or a position in the ranks (as Bellamy) Sol was always loyal to us and like the farcical Bennett situation will return to bite us on the arse in one way or the other. Good luck Sol & Joe! City legends in the fans eyes.

Sol was offered a coaching role.
He declined it as he thinks he can play on for 1/2 more Seasons, no drama, his choice.

f**k me, was not paying him loads of money to be a football player and then supporting him through his cancer battle not enough?
What would you have liked the club to do bend over and eat his shit?
Sorry, stuff like this pisses me off. Have a look whats going on in the world mate and rather than worrying about what a well paid Footballer who's recovered is going to do next stick your hand up in the air and volunteer to drive somebody who hasn't got two stones to rub together to their next chemo appointment if it makes you feel better, grow up

Sol got injured , a ruptured cruciate knee ligament at the age of 34 { so obviously no guarantee it wouldnt be career ending } ...he had 15 months left on his contract so what did our club do ? extended the contract by 12 months.... but people think thats not enough ... jesus...
as for the Joe Bennett comparison... he was not afforded an extension but has been allowed to train at the Vale ..seriously cant get my head around anyone thinking a few training sessions is in anyway favourable to a years wages...
its just another stick to beat the board with ..
