RIP.. remember they taught us a footballing lesson in the Cup 1984..Gates hat trick.. there’s a nice clip on YT with Joe Dwyer, Ron Jones etc..

Saw him play play at Home Park v City just before he moved to Ipswich. When he got the ball the whole ground were in anticipation of him doing something and the noise levels ramped up. Im sure he scored that day but what a great player.

Oct 1976. Mariner did score after 6 mins and game finished 2-2.
