‘ Junior Hoilett ‘

Thu Jul 08, 2021 2:23 pm

Reading are eyeing up a move for former Cardiff City star Junior Hoilett, according to BerkshireLive.

Hoilett's deal ran out in the Welsh capital this summer after five successful years at Cardiff City Stadium.

Middlesbrough boss Neil Warnock was thought to be keen on a reunion with the Canada international, however mooted interested earlier on in the summer has not yet materialised.

It has allowed Championship rivals Reading the opportunity to express an interest in landing the free agent.

The report goes on to suggest that the Royals are keen to sign Yannick Bolasie, who was spent last season on loan with Warnock up at Boro.

Bolasie was released by Everton this summer and is also a free agent.

Reading are under a transfer embargo so signing Junior Hoilett would make a lot of sense. Stumbling block might be wages but players need to understand the gravy train has stopped for now.

They've just sold Olise to Palace, so I'm guessing he'd be a replacement for him.

No way any players contract should be allowed to run down.
