SKY SPORTS: " GARETH BALE "

Tue Jun 29, 2021 10:11 am

Sky Sports:

Gareth Bale will return to Real Madrid for the final year of his £480,000-per-week contract.

Bales says he wants to finish his final season at Real Madrid and is relishing the challenge, Bale has also been told he is wanted back.

A number of Premier Clubs have shown interest in the Welsh international, but were only willing to pay 50% of Bales wages.

Gareth Bale's agent Jonathan Barnett has confirmed Bale won't play at Tottenham for a second season, with the Welshman set to see out the year he has left on his contract at Real Madrid confirmed Barnett.

Genuinely wouldn’t be surprised if he played there for a year and joined cardiff for a year to play in the winter World Cup 2022 just to stay fit after his contract expires with Madrid then retires from the game for good

whats been said Wez... quite a bit of wishful thinking by fans ...and GB himself stating that if he revealed his intentions for the coming season prior to the EUROs it would cause chaos..... ..not sure about you but a player seeing out his final year at the club he is contracted to dont seem like chaos to me.....

I can’t see him coming here to be honest. But the fact he’s as low as 5/4 on Skybet must mean there’s some whispers around. I don’t believe for a minute there’s been that much money placed on him for the odds to be that low. And as you’ve said he said the next move would cause chaos, and that was from the horses mouth. I’m pretty sure there was an article last season on wales online with him and Joe Rodon, in which he said he supports Cardiff. There’s lots of little things that make it look like he could, but on a purely football prospect I can’t see it. On a personal level for him I can see it happening.

I mean anything you see on Global247 is most likely bullshit anyways. I don’t think most on here were taking it too seriously, more just speculation.

Have to agree, we have to talk about something exiting as the season isn't here! It's silly season, and apart from maybe one or two, the rest of us were partaking in fantasy football banter ;) , having said that, he could well come here for the 2022 world cup, as a fitness/helping his home town club, but not this coming season, he will stay at Madrid, and possibly even sign an extension there, depending on how his season pans out, we will get (if at all) an older version of the one we "need" now. :old: :bluebird:

Unfortunately I think you are right in that the chaos is more to do with Real Madrid rather than Cardiff City

You could argue that Real Madrid having to find £480,000pw to pay a player for doing nothing during the current financial circumstances might cause a bit of chaos?

Also I'm not sure that GB was expected to stay at RM this coming season. Surely RM would be banking on a loan to the Premier League in order to share the burden of his wages?

If GB refuses to play ball then RM will be severely out of pocket.

honouring contracts of players that for whatever reason are of no use to you is part and parcel as is changing managers { in Zidanes case the shock would have been if he had remained ? } .... i think its unlikely he comes here but also think its unlikely he spends the season there... the chaos remark ? i find odd ...football is a world where managers take over at clubs they have described as small... signed players they have previously called gutter rats and quite often players and managers swap between 2 rival clubs..... case of watch what unfolds really... as a side.... gov posted the RM squad numbers last night...GB hasnt been given a number..

Because he had been tipped off Ancelotti was going there to replace Zidane. Obviously he couldn’t say that.

What you say is partly true but in Bale's case you have to put it into perspective. If he stays at RM for the final year of his contract it will cost the club (RM) £25m. That for a player who doesn't even have a squad number.

Like you I don't think GB will stay at RM but if he was engineering a pay off reminding the club of the cost of keeping him and the potential chaos to their finances and having an unhappy superstar is not a bad idea.

Tony it looks like the full amout of his contract would be £33m, that is why I think that RM will agree a settlement with him, that is a lot of money to pay out. One big thing is the media do not like him and the fans even when he is playing and scoring goals continually boo him!

i have put it into context mate.... the huge contract and the dilemma for RM regarding it have been there and been an issue for at least a couple of years now.... its been discussed in multiple press articles even been topics on here regarding it a few times...the situation quite simply has not changed a great deal since RM were at first willing and then not so willing for him to go to China on a free transfer 2 years ago.... for the life of me i cant think of many scenarios where the word chaos fits..

Only one thing and that fits thatv is move to city? Can u see the chaos on season tickets and shirt sales? :D
Leaving madrid under any situation wont cause chaos signing for premier team wont going to usa or china won't... not much if anything left is there? ...
Oh forgot going to welsh league team would... :laughing6:
But still cannot see city happening.

TBH with you I don't really understand how discussing things in the press or message board postings would have any affect on lessening the impact of £25m down the drain in wages for a player they clearly want to get rid of.

What happened 2 years ago doesn't really have any bearing on what is happening this summer. If Bale stays it is bound to have an affect on RM's purse strings. Whether he has picked the right word 'chaos' is debateable but he certainly would be a problem for them.
