Looks like a tv game? But city should take this competition seriously there is good chance of going far with premier clubs putting out 2 nd or 3rd team players...

I agree, we should take it seriously. Enjoyed our cup runs in 2012 and 2008.
Almost certain to be on TV, with Sutton just promoted to the EFL for the first time ever.

Is anyone interested in this cup anymore? Who was our last manager to take it seriously? We'll play fringe players and kids and go out first round.

In the first round of the Carabao Cup I hate drawing Championship or League 1 sides. Just no motivation for it - wrongly or rightly. Perhaps getting off to a good start in the league is so much more important that i can't get excited about playing another championship side so early in the season in a cup competition which is pretty low on the list until you get through the first few rounds.
However, this is a lovely draw. Allows a little room for us to play some youngsters and a newly promoted club to the league.

Reputation as giant killers in cup competitions. Hope we give cup runs a genuine good go this coming season

Annis, the list of lower league teams that have knocked us out of cups over the last few years is a long one, including Northampton, Gillingham, Bristol R, M K Dons, Shrewsbury and more and I'm getting pissed off with it. People say it's a chance to play fringe players and youngsters, but I'd like us to take it seriously for once. The record books only show that we were the victims of a giant killing, they don't show what our team was.
