Drakeford has said Even though there are plans to lift all restrictions some are still expected to be in force like wearing masks on transport? That is not a problem but main one is WG as no plans to follow whatever England decide on 21st July so social distancing is expected to be kept until end summer but more likely end of year
with dire consequences for hospitality and sport in wales.

WAG seriously lacking I common sense.Impossible to challenge any of their mystifying decisions like allowing betting shops to open 2 days after the biggest betting day of the year.Still they know best and we should all do as we are told

Yes it’s all a bit too quiet and cautious.
Mind you, better than Boris giving a date and the backtracking every time.
Let’s see what WG announce on Friday.

No "Covid" deaths in Wales yesterday
Two people in the whole country on ventilators.
The number of patients in hospital in the whole country "with Covid" down from 22 the day before to 16 yesterday.
Yet Gething was on yesterday with more bullshit about how the variants are making it really difficult for WAG to even consider any further easing of lockdown measures - it's almost unbelievable.
At this rate we'll be lucky to have 5000 allowed in the CCS next season - assuming that the whole country is not back in lockdown by August which I absolutely would not put past them.

You know drakeford never commits to anything before boris just so he can appear clever and say told you so! Nothing much he can announce on Friday as gone as far as he is willing to go until end july....

Drakeford has been able to play cautious because most of the cost has been picked up by central government- furlough in particular. They aren't going to extend furlough just to keep Drakeford happy and that's when he will have to follow Boris on hospitality because otherwise there will mass redundancies in Wales.

He is a quaker/puritan type so alcohol, betting, clubbing are all detrimental to the working class and Wales and he knows what's best for us all.
The WRU rely on the principality stadium fixtures and he is not daft enough to piss off the rugby types. It will be interesting for those July fixtures where the massive stadium will house 8000 fans, whereas Wembley will house 450000 in the same month even though the infection rate is lowest in Wales.
The WRU have the big guns over in the Autumn that's expensive, they will need capacity.
2M's outdoors is crazy, surely its better to work out how to get people out of the stadium slower and less congested.

Drakeford as said he will not follow England's lifting of restrictions so we are stuck with absurd limits compared to England..... only 800 fans for cricket in a 15k stadium because of the stricter application of rules.... craziest is at wedding can gave so many people attend but cannot get up and dance or sing
Because got to wear masks when it eating.. there must be a long list of bonkers conditions within covid restrictions that apply in Wales but not in England..

The final sentence in the report says it all for me. "The Welsh government declined to comment". Typical. We have made our decision, so get on with it!

Its because their decision wont stand up to scrutiny like a lot of their decisions they avoid answers like all politicians do..

And that's what the man wants to impose now, in the middle of summer, when covid is not far short of zero in Wales.
Lets hope the vaccines continue to work against all the variants as any increase at all and he will be back tracking again.
4/5000 in the ground is a farce and barely worth while. To think they closed the upper ninian to save money. Opening up every section for fans to scatter is a joke. I doubt it will make economic sense to run any hospitality or food or drink at all.

I thought it was only the Lone Ranger who kepted his mask on when eating.
