The Bluebirds have already signed striker James Collins from Luton to strengthen Mick McCarthy's squad and it appears more deals are imminent.

"I'm surprised to hear it's only one signing been announced. I thought we'd signed three players but what do I know?" Dalman told the A.C.E. Podcast Nation.


"He [McCarthy] has his shopping list and we're supporting him in that.

"I'm surprised we've only mentioned one player, I thought we'd done more but then again, what do I know?


"Evidently, we're very close. I would imagine they've just not been announced. But I signed them off a few days ago so I presume they're in the process of getting done."

"We will have a lower wage bill this year, because a number of players who have gone out of contract have left the club," he added.

"That will bring the wages down a little bit - not considerably. But we have to go and invest.

"We have to bring in three or four players this season and we have to find the money somewhere."

Dalman clearly states he "signed off" on players a few days ago, so it is likely some background work is still going on...

Of course, the announcement of Gareth Bale's signing will be kept back until after the Euros, so as not to raise a furore whilst that event is going on...

Yes Chris I also heard it on good authority that Dalman has offered Bale £5000 a week we are still waiting for a reply

I'm not having a go but some on here don't seem to trust anything Dalman says so he could have been trying to appease the fans?

What people believe depends on what he says? if suits people hes lieing if it doesn't hes telling truth? But personally prefer to wait until something actually happens rather than believe or disbelieve what he says... .. all can say about these so called signings club is being extremely secretive for things not to get out to news media like sky usually say subject to international clearance so why not say so?

Can never get to much info as far as clubs concerned? fans always keen to be informed of every minor announcement..

I believe Mick McCarthy is on hols for another week or so. My guess is something official when he returns. Publicity photos etc.
