Last night started as a vigil for a young lad who died at home unexpectedly.....and Its happening no excuse for the destruction suffered by residents from what appears to be yobs from outside the area ...

The jacks are revolting because they are revolting

Swansea youths go on the rampage in the Mayhill area and cause thousands of pounds worth of improvements.

Mayhill was like the totenham rioters a few years but in mayhill they where attacking people in there houses how low can the jacks go

Swansea youths go on the rampage in the Mayhill area and cause thousands of pounds worth of improvements.

They have always been revolting. Minging gypos. The smell off them.

I’d riot too if I lived in the Welsh equivalent of Beirut.

Joking aside that was truly horrendous wanton violence. Lets be honest sending torched cars careering down a steep hill like with amongst other road users and occupied properties is beyond reckless for even the the most reckless. We could easily be talking huge tragedy today if the had hit an occupied car or property gas main. There's been a concerted effort to undermine the authority of the police in recent months. Criticise the police for Clapham or Bristol = Swansea. We've made them inept and god help us when these twats realise they have the upper hand.

They had upto 200 officers there but decided not safe to intervene? This is now standard practice of police if you look at similar incidents over past year.... so now they will take weeks to look at film/ pictures to try catch culprits......

If there were 200 coppers there why the hell didn't they wade in and arrest these law breaking morons ffs?

Burning cars, stoning police vans, threatening residents, filming their behaviour and breaking the law of the land.

Some woman saying she was the deputy chief constable saying we will sort.

I was going to say it's unbelievable... these days it's not.

Copper In charge rambled on about how they brought in responses from all over south Wales but looking at pictures there was one van guess others were hiding behind a wall waiting until yobs went away.... but this wait until disperse attitude is fuelling a lot more damage as think they are immune from being arrested especially if wear masks like they do ! It seems social media is police answer to arresting people far safer for them to get film/pictures of culprits and knock on doors at 6am.

That van was the response from the rest of South Wales..and decided it wasn’t stopping. The Police have been dismantled by successive Govts with the namby agenda. Decent citizens are the losers.

They all looked about the same dap as Bilbo Baggins..

A lot to be said with that; and I thought the scruffy looking ACC in the interview sounded rather defeatist when saying they decided not to go in, so as to contain the rioting to a smaller area...

Excuse the pun but it seems like a cop out to me and they should have gone in and sorted it out. However, let's be honest, the real likelihood is they simply didn't have the numbers required and the safety of their own was the major consideration

Chris this type of policing is the norm now when large groups gather and make trouble only need look at extinction rebellion and other large gatherings that as trouble... the same excuse as been rolled out didn't want to escalate incident? Isnt it about time authorities fought back..... fire engines there last night use their hoses to disperse the thugs no danger there except to the morons..... more police stand back more likely you are to get these incidents...... another thing why hold a vigil in an area he was not living and why have a vigil at all as he died of natural causes but these vigils seem to attract violence..

Allan you make a good point but I would be very surprised on so many levels, if the fire service used hoses to disperse the crowd? It's a very European thing to do but it's just not what they would do over here in this litigious and H&S driven age

Feel sorry for the Police.. the lack of confidence shown by the ACC just reflects what it is.. no numbers and tied hands.

If you think back to the strike when they took the Miners on, now they cant deal with a few spotty kids..
