So Cardiff City Fans: Looking “IN” is the big question :

Looking “IN” is the big question :

One thing for certain is that the bubble has burst and clubs in the Championship will be spending far less on buying players and the new wages offered will be much less than before.

In this sense we are on par with most of our competitors accept of course clubs who have been recently relegated from the Premier League.

However , the big question is not about looking “OUT” on who will we get .......but rather on looking “IN” on who we can keep :

(1) can/will we hold on to players that are of paramount importance to us , but who are on high wages ? Can you name those ?

(2) can/will we hold on to players of paramount importance to us if we get a good offer ?

(3) will the money coming from any sale of any player go towards buying players ?

(4) how will we handle players who we really want out , but who are still on contract , but are difficult for us to shift. Can you name those ?

In essence what are our realistic expectations and where do we expect to finish ?

Last season the general consensus was 8 -10 ......... what do you think next season will hold for us ?

4 No's from me.

Expectations and financial circumstances will dictate.

Ship em out and get some hungry young players in to fight for a place.Theres going to be plenty out of contract and wanting to play or get a job in Starbucks.

Pay as you play type contracts.

Most clubs in the same boat

MM and his gang same.Top 2 or bye bye.

Looking In has been the agenda for several seasons. We are now being forced into implementing it.

I hope Mick shakes up the squad.

Despite some people labelling him a bit of a dinosaur, he has a reputation - at Wolves, Sunderland and Ipswich, of reducing the average age of the squad and giving younger players a chance.

Let's be honest, this low percentage possession and reliance on set-pieces is always going to limit us.

Also, I think there will be some tremendous loans and frees available and we know city don't mind paying decent wages, so I think we can maximise the current situation.

Funny enough we have never really done very well when splashing out exc3essive fees.

It will be an exciting transfer window.

Big question mark over Kieffer Moore for me.

One of the promoted clubs will fancy him for £15m-£20m.

I doubt we would hold onto him if an offer comes in like that... Even though to us he is worth possibly triple that, considering his importance to the team and uniqueness.

If we sell him for a low figure like that we will have a big problem.. Clubs will expect bigger transfer fees from us and he is irreplacable...

We will do much better by keeping him and hoping to find someone to play off him. Would be great if Watters can develop into a Chopra but we will see.

If we had another prolific striker and a good CM we would be looking very good.

I am not sure that that will be the case. Firstly yes Keifer has done great for us in the championship but I think many clubs will think he is not a premier league player and no one outside the premier can afford that sort of money. Secondly Keifer is ideally sorted for our rather crude style of play most clubs who are in the premier or have ambitions of being in the premier play a rather more sophisticated type of football. He is a horse who has found his ideal course. Thirdly our entire game plan revolves round him so much so that MM simply can't leave him out of the team or even subsistute him for fear it would be like cutting the head off a chicken. He will be with us next season.
