Cardiff City boss Mick McCarthy admits the future of Gavin Whyte is still up in the air but has not ruled out the possibility of him joining Hull City after they achieved promotion to the Championship this weekend.
Whyte has been involved and has played a big part in Hull City’s promotion this season, playing 19 games since he went on loan to Hull City in January.

Whyte's time at Cardiff City started brightly under Neil Warnock, however under Neil Harris his lack of attacking output saw him consigned to the substitutes bench during Neil Harris' reign.
One of Harris' last acts as City boss back in January was to sanction a loan move for the Northern Ireland international, with League One outfit Hull City keen to have him for the rest of the season.
He has enjoyed some game-time up at the KCOM Stadium in a successful side which has been pushing for promotion all season.
The 25-year-old has notched four goals in 17 appearances for the Tigers and supporters appear to have taken to him up on Humberside.
Indeed, there are supporters in this corner of the world who would love to see him back in the blue of Cardiff City, while others are yet to be convinced.
Where his future lies next season remains up in the air, though, with McCarthy seemingly keeping all options on the table at the minute.
MICK McCARTHY:
"We've had feedback and reports. We've had people watching Gavin Whyte and he seems to be coming on as a sub just recently," the manager said of Whyte ahead of this weekend. “Hull have been impressed with the lad so we will think it over this Summer with him.”
"We've got people monitoring it. We'll see what happens with them.
"Gavin, I've not seen much of him so we'll have to see what they want to do in terms of their recruitment. He's been there all year and it looks like they'll get promoted, whether they want to keep him, I don't know.
"But whatever happens, whoever's at the club will be back for pre-season and we'll deal with it then."
Quite where Whyte would slot into McCarthy's system is perhaps the biggest consideration. Junior Hoilett, who missed out on Saturday's win over Wycombe with a tight hamstring, has perhaps suffered a similar fate.
Neither Whyte nor Hoilett appear to fit as a second striker, nor do they appear to be natural wing backs in McCarthy's eyes.
The winger's future is certainly one to keep an eye on this summer, though.
