BIG MICK SAYS THESE TWO CITY STARS WONT BE PLAYING FOR CARDI

Fri Apr 23, 2021 9:25 am

A significant update on Wilson and Ojo

They won’t be playing for Cardiff next season they need to find a permanent club says Mick McCarthy.

MICK McCARTHY:

“I don’t think that will be the case [them returning]. Both Harry and Sheyi have a year left and a year option at Liverpool.

Harry has been at four clubs and he wants to play somewhere permanently. So does Sheyi.

Loaning them out next year, they will be in the final year of their contract.

Would I have them back, yes. I don’t think it’ll happen as they both need to find a permanent club.”

Mick McCarthy's verdict on Harry Wilson and Sheyi Ojo. Says they both want permanent homes next season - but that is unlikely to be in the Welsh capital.

I wouldn’t take Ojo back. He is very inconsistent and hasn’t had a good game for a long time. If it wasn’t for the fact that his parent club was Liverpool he would get far more flack. League 1 or lower championship is his level

After saying that, there’s no way that either should play (certainly from the start) in our last few games. Completely pointless. We’ve nothing to play for.
We now need to look at Murphy, Colwill and any other forward players we have (apart from Johnny Williams who I also reckon won’t be here next year.
Otherwise what sort of message does it send out - these 2 won’t be here next year but they’re still above you in the pecking order for 3 meaningless games?

I would have Harry Wilson back. He has that quality that could win a game. He just needs that one moment in a game and he will take it.

Shame it is not going to happen.

Absolutely; the best attack minded player we have had since Whitts in his heyday

I do tend to agree but for what I’m sure will be a hefty asking price, we could use what funds we have better imho.

Unfortunately, he is well out of our price range. Our midfield needs an overhaul as we have no creativity, so yes we need to spend there. I would keep Glatzel too personally as we now have the permanently injured Vassel, the untried Watters who MM doesn't seem to rate along with Harris and who knows whether Murphy will be here next season. We are very light up front so seemingly need to spend there too. These players won't come cheap, so am at a loss to understand the decision to put Glatzel on the market.

Unless we’ve already secretly signed someone up for next season. Unofficially

Is Mick pulling a bit of a flanker or is he genuine about Wilson and Ojo not coming back ,I would like to think these two may still be with the club with a little luck .About Ojo he may be a little off form because he is so unsettled ,lets hope we keep them both. :bluebird: :bluebird: :bluebird:
