 I think drink was the only thing that got me through that period

Apart from a couple of notable seasons in the 80s and 90s the football, and results !, were pretty awful. When you look at some of the "highlights" you can find on YouTube it's like parks football !!

Mind you, at the time I thought it was brilliant

Just goes to show supporting a club is not just for promotion or cup finals! And people complain about the football recently? :D :bluescarf:

It is ironic that those were, for us who were there, amongst our best times supporting the Bluebirds... :ayatollah:

One of the reasons was the 'togetherness' of what was a relatively small band of supporters who simply 'loved' the club for what it was and who stuck together more in hope than expectation in the main

However, the Eddie May years and the years under Sam were undoubtedly my favourites to date and I'd like to see that gut 'togetherness' return under a more enthusiastic owner

Would be great to have an owner who engages more with the club & fans and for the club to have a genuine sense of purpose and identity. We've definitely lost our way a bit.

As good (controversial statement to some, I know) as Vincent Tan has been in many ways, he clearly lost his initial enthusiasm after 'Redgate' and other than maybe Neil Warnock, we've not had a leader at the top to pull the supporters together like we were during the Sam era and right up to the fall of Malky...

Shows how poor our history is. Its amazes me how big our fan base is when you consider we have only appeared in the top flight for 17 seasons and lifted our last major trophy 94 years ago.big club fan base small club history.

So, so, so bad. Excited about 110,000 signings. Thinking they must be amazing.

Should get an average attendance next to it too.

I wonder if I've still got the share certificate somewhere and if Vinnie will let me cash my shares in!

i genuinely dont understand what is being got at ..... purpose, identity and engaging... spent my life just turning up and watching.. hope this season is better than the previous.... ive never doubted our identity... always taken what owners managers have said with a pinch of salt ... hardly likely to be negative or would i want them to be.... and engaging ... just blows me away..do people want invites to Tans yacht or what { lagoon need not answer that } ...

Started 1992 and had.my best times following Cardiff in Div 3 and 4. Enjoyed it more than the premiership. Clearly.not the standard.of football but the belonging to the club

Didn’t you have to cut the coupon out of the South Wales Echo and present it at the turnstiles to get in for a quid?

Me too Annis. My first ever girlfriend made me decide, her or Cardiff City. In her defence, all I did around her house was put the teletext on (during away games as couldn’t afford to attend) to get goal updates.

My answer was that “I’ve known Cardiff City longer” and just like that the relationship of the two young lovers was over.
