' EDDIE HOWE MOVING FORWARD '

Thu Mar 25, 2021 9:11 am

Former Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe was linked to the Bluebirds before the appointment of Mick McCarthy and it was suggested that both money and his desire to manage a club within was reach of his south coast home was high on his priority list

It was hinted that he already had 'something' lined up and yesterday I had a (work) conversation with someone with direct links to Crystal Palace FC who believes a deal has been done for Eddie Howe to take over from Roy Hodgson this summer; a move seen as a 'perfect solution' for all parties (although I'm not sure Roy will be too happy)

Eddie Howe has also been linked to Glagow Celtic and declared himself 'interested' but that moves seen as 'highly unlikely' at this point

his contract is up and so far hasnt been offered a new one....been talk about Eddie stepping in this while but Frank Lampard is now also being strongly linked... Palace best get the cheque book out if either of those 2 are appointed.. as id imagine both would want much bigger backing than Roy has had...

He's done a good job there, I reckon Howe will struggle if he gets it!

Anyone who ever thought he was going to be our manager were living in cloud cuckoo land, I said that before Harris even left.

I think he turned down Sheffield United as well, which suggests he wasn't keen on dropping down to the Championship for any club.

Palace is a good fit for him, and suits all party with Hodgson's contract running out at the end of the season.

They already have an established Premier League squad but also have owners that will support a new manager to bring in the players he wants.

I think it's a move that makes sense, for both Crystal Palace and Eddie Howe.
