Can we give a special bit of praise for @Dillon_Phillips? It’s always hard to fight back after making a mistake (one mistake in two months, mind)!
He produced an incredible save at the death and always looked confident! What a signing he’s been!

It would be pretty harsh if Mick dropped him now. The way he's been playing he deserves his run in the team Luckily for us we know that Smithies is waiting for his chance. Both are outstanding - quite rare we have 2 1st choices for that position

It's because they both don't make mistakes that often that they stand out when they do.

We have been lucky with keepers for a while now.having two great stoppers is a big plus imho.

Totally agree and am also sorry for Alex Smithies who had been playing well, but may find the subs seat his home for some time as Dillon Phillips has been doing so well and could easily be there long term. Given his age, he is only going to get better.

If you're a midfielder or a defender and you make a mistake, it doesn't always result in a goal because there's the goalkeeper to keep it out.
Obviously not the case for a goalkeeper, which makes it the most important position in the team.
So it's actually impressive he's only made one big mistake over the last couple of months.
Without doubt he's our number one now.
Smithies is also a good goalkeeper, but he'll struggle to get back into the team now.

I agree.
It was great to see Smithes celebrating enthusiastically in the huddle at the end though.

And to think some had a moan when we signed him! He's been brilliant since he's come in. Still pretty young for a keeper as well!
