Did You Used To Love A Pint, But Now Are Tee Total ?

Fri Sep 10, 2010 2:03 pm

I fear my booze intake is slowly reducing my life expectancy, I dont drink a lot (about two/three pints every night) and then six or seven on Saturday. I love a pint but would also love to give up for health and money saving.

Anyone done it ?

I haven't given up completely but I've cut right back. I was never a heavy drinker (my main drinking day being saturday or sunday match day) but I would occassionally go into a pub on my own and stay there until I got drunk. I will now not go into a pubunless I am with mates and rarely drink at home, but that part hasn't changed anyway as I hate home drinking. I have never been the kind of person who goes home after work and opens a can of lager, I don't see the point really, but I also don't condemn anyone who does, it's your choice in a free country, after all.

Although I've never been dependent on alcohol, I did take a look at myself and realised that my drinking had become a problem when i did drink as I would lose control over my reasoning between right and wrong. I have done some ridiculously stupid things under the influence, one of which cost me my liberty and other things which could cost me my liberty in the future. I also thought that, by going into pubs and drinking on my own was leading me on the path to dependency on alcohol

I'm not completely tee total but I very very rarely touch a drop these days.

I crammed 20 years of heavy drinking in from the age of 15 but for the past 4 or 5 years I've completely lost interest in it.

I'd rather go for a run and get my high after that.

I used to drink every Friday afternoon after work and then go home for a shower before going back out for the night, usually down the NUM picking up slappers. :D Then i'd be in the Pub all day Saturday and Sunday. Used to miss my fair share of work on Monday mornings. But now I don't drink at all exept for special occasions. I know a lot of people who drink at home every night but this has and never will appeal to me.I used to go to the Pub to socialise mainly but inevitably ended up Pissed every night.   Come to think of it I haven't had a pint since my Missus' Birthday party back last January. :ayatollah:

Dont consider myself a big drinker. I do enjoy opening a can when i get home from an evening shift that's for sure. And occasionally i love to have to many before a game. It doesn't send me violent or have these tendencies just wants to make ring f*cking bells in the Ninian.
