Think about all the players we've released in the past and have gone on to better things.
Maybe, finally, it's our turn to get some success from signing young players who have been let go by other clubs.

Tomlin and Moore were both playing non league football in their early 20’s. Jamie Vardy was 26 and playing non league football when he signed for Leicester. All players start somewhere and he’s still a teenager.

indeed they were.. along with ten thousand others that are not Tomlin , Vardy and Moore that continued to be non league players... they are very much the exceptions...

And if he can't cut it at our level then we can sell him on. He's a free transfer and will be on tiny wages, if in 2 years time he's not managed a place in the first team we can offload him to a League 2 team. Being 20 years old and with 2 years experience training at a Championship club and with Championship quality facilities/coaches/staff/etc we would probably be able to get a fee that matches or maybe even exceeds the 2 years of wages he would've been paid.
It's a small gamble with a minuscule amount of money and borderline zero risk.

Bagan, brown and tang were all signed for the academy recently. All 3 are playing their part this season. Even ralls was signed for the academy. Saves a lot money if you can bring players through like this.
People moan that the academy is shit and people moan when the academy try to find/development young talent. Club cant win.

We picked up Joe Ralls from Aldershot. That didn’t turn out badly either..
