' Impressive Perry NG '

By Glen Williams

Mick McCarthy said he would veer away from crowbarring players into the team if it meant playing them in the wrong position, but it was needs must on Tuesday night.

Due to the reshuffle at the back, Ng was tasked with swapping flanks and, having had a hand in both Watford goals on the weekend, was no doubt keen to come back with the bit between his teeth.

He did just that. He was tremendous from start to finish, which is even more impressive given it was on the wrong flank.

He made a goal-saving clearance on the line to deny Jordan Thompson in the first half, which largely went under the radar but it was a terrific piece of defending, and remained solid throughout the evening.

In attack, too, he consistently got beyond the last man and offered a real attacking outlet. His ability to play a cutting pass down the wing or jink inside and drive towards the box was a theme of the night.

Cardiff look to have a real diamond on their hands with Perry Ng.

I agree. Only a matter of time before he scores. Always willing to shoot with either foot.

We might hang on to him for another season, but at some point a bigger club will come in for him.

We'll make a decent profit.

He's been excellent so far. Makes the odd mistake but he's still learning and is only 24.

Not taken him long at all to step up from League One to the Championship. It takes many players much longer to adapt.

Agree in part, but I'm hoping we can hang onto him a bit longer! He,as you correctly point out, has taken to life in the championship with little trouble.every defender makes mistakes though, even at the top(ask arsenal, lol).
But fear you are probably correct,if he continues to improve, we will struggle to keep hold of him,but will definitely be making a tidy profit for a change eh?
