The European Union will on Wednesday unveil a COVID-19 pass to allow free travel this summer and support the struggling tourism sector despite the bloc's sluggish vaccination campaign and the risks posed by new coronavirus variants.

Yes, i would ban all travel from countries that have stopped vacinating people, and as for the clotting there is no data or proof that having the vaccine gives you clots, there are more people getting clots in a normal year, without any jabs.
There are more people who have had the Pizter jabs getting clots. again no proof to say it is anything to do with the jab.
As The italians have said it is political, they are all cheesed off because astra zenical have not supplied enough vaccine for what they wanted, their fault for not putting orders in sooner

The EU have been ridiculous with this anti Astra Zeneca propaganda, it's purely political and just so that can say at the end, yes the UK were quicker, but we were more cautious, just like Drakeford and Wee Jimmy's games with Boris!

Well as a person unable to have the jab,I have just had good news! My favourite destination Turkey, has said it will be accepting people un restricted ie no vaccination pass required! So for me,and I'm being selfish here, this is fantastic news,as I cannot even go to family villa in spain as of yet! So I might get some sun sea & relaxation later this year!!

Paul I am not sure if I asked this before and I quite understand it is personal so if you do not want to say I quite understand, but if you do not mind answering then you can always PM me not to answer on the message board, so to the question.
Why are you unable to have the jab?

It looks like the passport/certificate may allow people like yourself to travel with a recent negative test, so maybe Spain and Greece is still an option?

Greece confirmed that they will welcome UK visitors who have either had the vaccine, or are tested negative just prior to travel. However, I believe a decision should be announced on or around 12th April by the UK government on whether vaccine passports will be required in UK to travel on holidays abroad etc.
Personally, I won't be travelling abroad until this pandemic is well and truly over with, but obviously many of you will.

I will go if it's really safe and the numbers are very low, if we are allowed, but can live another year without going abroad if that what's decided?

These new variants could be a problem, so lets wait and see?

A story here saying it may be difficult this year, do to the slow vaccine roll out in Europe and the different variants that may make our vaccines les effective.

Summer holidays in doubt as Morgan Stanley warns trips to Spain, Italy and Greece are at risk due to Europe's slow jab roll-out
Summer holidays in Europe are unlikely to take place this year, bank has warned
Morgan Stanley said slow vaccine roll-out combined with more-infectious Covid variants mean reopening is unlikely even on same scale as last year
It said economies of Spain, Italy, Portugal and Greece are likely to be hardest-hit
Announcement came just a day after EU announced Covid 'green pass' scheme

Yes maybe! I guess a few more destinations will do same eventually? I will reiterate though, mine was a selfish post, but I have a good friend who has recently been given bad news, regards his health, and I want to see him at least once more!! Most likely to say goodbye.so im over the moon that I can go unrestricted.Which as we have all found out,can change overnight!
But for now,im basking in a bit of good news, why not, after the shittiest of years of my life!.
