About as much use as an Ashtray on a motorbike.

They didn't have good games tonight, but neither did Moore.
In fact, Moore was much worse than both of them.
Not to forget that Bacuna and Ojo have both been good over the course of the season.
Exceptionally unfair to single them out in that performance.

Did you say this when the team was announced mate?
just curious as both had been varying degrees of okay recently.

Yep OJO offers nothing Bacuna was quite happy to see him playing but again offered nothing.

Fickle fans.
I called it.
Gutted to be right.
It was Murphy getting it the other week and saying why aren’t Ojo and Bacuna on.
Lots of opinions with the benefit of hindsight. I bet Mick wishes he had the same crystal ball.

Ojo had more goals and assists than Wilson this season.

Doesn't matter because Wilson is Welsh.

Ojo and Bacuna were absolute garbage last night - that is the point beung made by the opening poster. This is not 'being fickle' - we can praise players when they play well but we can also critisise them when they are as poor as they were last night.

My point was that nobody really complained when they were selected as they had been doing ok. Poor tonight is a fair comment though.

The whole of our attack was blunt last night. I include the big boys when they came up from the back too. Plenty of second balls in the box and all were caught flat footed.
Other than that I didnt think we were that bad. Certainly not as bad as people are making out! You don't take your chances, you don't win. Simple.
The exact same can also be said of Stoke.

That’s a fair assessment.

I thought Bacuna was ok last night. I mean he played Moore through on a plate. Beat players regularly. Was generally lively.
Ojo wasn’t good.
Hindsight is wonderful.

At least my criticism of murphy seems fair in comparison (as he hadnt really performed well consistently) whereas these two have to a degree(bacuna not a rb!).

The problem with our squad, is that it has been systematically groomed by successive managers, to play a style of football that limits the amount of time and opportunities our attacking players get on the ball. Rarely have we had more possession than opponents. Our pass rate is also low compared to other teams - the number of passes and the success of the passes. When we have had success it's mainly been set pieces and long balls.
MM has tried to address that a little by changing formation and allowing attacking players more freedom and create more from open play, but we still struggle to dominate games. That is a legacy of successive negative managers.
So there will be games when players and the team will default to negative play and the victims of that are our attacking players who struggling to get into the games. So it's no surprise that players like Ojo and Bacuna will have games where their impact is limited. But I do think it's unfair to pick on them individually while the rest of the team plays a negative game that stifles them. I don't think Murphy or Wilson would have made much of an impact against Stoke.
MM has a huge job in the summer as some attacking players are out of contract / loans ending. Literally nothing needs to be done at the back apart from some cover... but central midfield and the forward lines needs an overhaul, starting with a ball winner and ball retainers/passers in midfield.
