If we want to challenge next season, some money will have to be spent, for strength in depth, just look at Norwich, 22points ahead of us and even some of the others way ahead. McCarthy will need to be given funds, cant go up if you do not have strength in depth.
As the saying goes tables dont lie, even Watford are 15points ahead of us.

Not written us off, our players are tired, yes if McCarthy had come in earlier we would be in a way better position.
We are 6points behind, we have to there forget back to winning and keep winning and hope for other teams to slip up, go on a bad run. its still there to play for and McCarthy has done a great job. Squad has injuries, costly wasters like Vassell and Tomlin.

Agree we need to utilise the loan market well next season to get promotion. Can't see us getting there this season but there's still a chance if we beat Stoke and the Jacks. Anything less than a win again Stoke and it's over imo.

Hopefully we can get Ojo and Osei-Tutu on permanent deals..

Maybe get someone like Barry Bannan from Sheff Weds. I like Dominic Iorfa too, think he'd be excellent in our system.

Harris should have been sacked 3 months previous to when he did. If that happened we would be top 6...

We will fall just short but great turnaround. Ojo needs to be signed permanently and hopefully he settles at.one club playing regular. Wilson will be sold and out of our fund limit.

Young lower league players for small.amounts of money and use academy like we are and let's see.where it takes us.

We do seem to have some promising players in the youth team probably the most promisingly for several years,not difficult as our youth teams have produced bugger all for a decade maybe we will get a few good players at the same time. If we do drop out of realistically having a chance of the playoffs and we are almost there we should give them a go. A few of them can actually pass the ball well which would be a novelty.

Always reckoned McCarthy is a good manager but not sure what he is like in the transfer market. Not encouraged by the fact he has signed just one player who he won't actually play even though we have been poor in three of our last four games.

I wouldnt pay too much attention to the points difference between us and Watford. Harris it seems was the issue for 70% of the season. Look at the difference between the attitude of the players on the pitch between now and the start of the season.

As someone once said - Football management is quite simple as long as you take people with you. So the players understand and want to be part of the process. That's why Warnock and McCarthy and others seem to get more out of players than other managers.

I have no issue playing direct football but if we are serious about promotion we need to the keep the ball better next season. Not saying we should needlessly pass it around at the back but there are still too many balls aimlessly smashed out of defence and a lack of control in the centre of midfield. The Huddersfield game was a terrible performance. If that is to become a regular performance we have no chance at promotion and I dont think fans will be happy for long either - hopefully it was just a blip and not a sign of things to come though.

We need another CB next season, hopefully we sign a CB who is decent on the ball to go straight into the starting 11, rather than someone just as cover. It is clear we need a more creative midfielder as well - maybe a loan or giving colwill a run??? Either way, keeping the ball better will only benefit the team. We also won't be so reliant on a Moore type centre forward to win everything in the air from longballs.

Norwich and the Jacks don’t spend money, but both have excellent Academy’s and use the loan market well whereas we wasted our Premier League money by buying crap players!
