Brentford 1-0 pen ... but is var needed in championship now? A pen given when defender did nothing just standing his ground player went into his knee and fell over? Getting regular this diving buisness in championship.

Not watching that game myself, I'm watching Newcastle v Villa. So I can't comment on that incident.

But agree with your point, there are a lot of penalties being given for very little that would be overturned by VAR.

EFL obviously have the capabilities to use VAR, because they use it in the EFL Cup.

I guess a lot would come down to the cost. The fact that Premier League fans having warmed to it might put them off but at the same time a lot of bad decisions would be overturned.

Another issue is the same referees who are making bad decisions in the Championship, would be the ones operating VAR.

But these teams who are getting dodgy decisions will be found out next season in the Premier League by VAR if they go up.

I'm multi tasking got both on ! :laughing6: was talking in general about the diving not aimed at anyone in particular! But your right var would generally sort it out with occasional exceptions...... there is obviously the technical know how to put it in championship but like you say same people giving the dodgy decision will be doing var and cost os manageable considering the money spent on championship and the huge rewards for success

Brentford up to 2nd as it stands. One point above Watford and Swansea ahead of tomorrow and with a better goal difference than both.

Brentford will still have a game in hand on Watford after tomorrow.

Not on Brentford after tomorrow though, but both Swansea and Brentford will have a game in hand on Watford.

FT 1-0 brentford
But Blackburn should have had injury time penalty... it was far more a pen than one brentford got given.

Swansea win 1-0 at Luton in Saturday's early kick off.

They are up to 2nd, although Watford will go back above them if they beat us - in any case, Swansea and Brentford will have a game in hand over Watford after today.

Very close between those three for the final automatic promotion place. Could be a three horse race going into the final day.
