Gabor Gyepes. Hungarian international defender signed for £200k from Northampton in 2008. He played 74 times for City, scoring 5 goals before his contract was ended by mutual consent in 2012.
He will always be remembered for his red card rugby tackle on James Vaughan vs Leicester

That was a great rugby tackle,,, and I recall he also got sent off for a similar offence against a Sheffield Utd player some time earlier, as did Ross McCormack in the same game.

Awesome night that was.
One of those nights where the fans cheered the player on to the final whistle. We won 2-1 I believe and our 10 remaining players just flopped to the ground at the final whistle.

What a game this was, the first time a real atmosphere was made in the new stadium....we had whitts left back and capaldi centre back...then Burke was playing injured as we had no subs... why gabor didn't rugby tackle earlier but glad he did eventually.. Great night this....

Think it was against Leicester? Effectively down to 9 men for the last 20 mins, I don't think there was one fan in that ground that wasn't stood up chanting. One of those nights that will live forever. I'm pretty sure it was 1-0 though, maybe wrong.

It was Leicester and the final score was 2-1. I think we went 2 up only for Leicester to pull one back. Leicester look strong for the equaliser and they were through on goal before Gyepes brought down their striker.

Nah. Leicester play off semi when we won on pens was mine. The next game at Wembley v Blackpool I still don’t think I’m fully over yet.
