Cardiff City Physical?

I really don't think we are more of a physical side than many others in the division.

In fact, I think we tried to play a physical game against Huddersfield but it turned us into the team we were before MM came in.

We're certainly not consistently playing the sublime passing game, but it is MUCH more pleasing to watch than under Harris.

Trying to play the physical game and having the physical tag ( just because we are a team of players over 6ft, hasn't really helped our cause this year, because teams can be equally physical, but can play too.

Professional teams have to be physical and labelling teams as such either hides their own shortcomings, or provides an opposition manager with ready made excuses.

In terms of disciplinary, we're 12th with 53 yellow cards and 3 red cards over our 35 games.

So that's around 1.5 yellow cards per game.

If you judge it just on yellow cards, we'd be 16th.

Those stats seem to suggest that we aren't one of the most physically aggressive teams in the league.

However, we have made 460 fouls which ranks us in 4th in the league for that stat. Just over 13 fouls per game.

I guess it comes down to how you want to judge it.

Totally agree I can never understand when other managers call us physical because we are not we just have a lot of tall players

I don’t think we are physical in the sense of dirty. However, we certainly have the physical attribute of height in abundance which we use to good effect, in conjunction with an excellent trajectory of dead ball delivery from corners and free kicks. You can indeed add throw ins to the list as well. It’s a part of our game I really enjoy watching.
