MICK McCARTHY:

“Joel did dislocate his shoulder. I’m not a doctor, but I do know lads who’ve dislocated them before and when it happens once, it can happen pretty easily again until they have the operation. Whether that’s the case with Joel, I don’t know.

“But he’s a very young player. So we want to look after him. He won’t be rushed back and he needs to be right. We’ve had dreadful luck [with full-backs].

Cardiff lost Joel Bagan to dislocated shoulder at Huddersfield, just days after fellow left-sided defender Joe Bennett was ruled out for the season with a knee injury.

Joel Bagan could be out of action for a while, Bagan will be looked at today (Saturday).

NG was injured for last nights game, Big Mick is hoping NG will be ok for next Saturday's game with Watford as its nothing serious.

Lee Tomlin was expected to join the first team by now ,but says he has felt unwell so will have to play a couple more games for the U23's in March.

Tomlin as we all know struggles with his weight & fitness but on his day, is a game changer, this is Tomlin's last chance to sort his self out and keep fit, unless, City has no choice and to let him go.
The youngsters are proving themselves which is great.
City need to keep this momentum going, get goals quick from the start, don't let sides get settled, that proved last night against Huddersfield. :bluebird:

Thing is with a dislocated shoulder it gets progressively easier to pop out again so in the end you need an op to put it right.Bryan Robson use to do it all the time as I remember until he got the op that fixed it permanent.

Very true. I dislocated my left shoulder playing Sunday League football when in my 20's. My ligaments were so badly damaged that my shoulder would pop out even if I turned sharply on the pitch.

As a professional footballer Bagan will have to have it pinned if he wants to continue his career. As you said, Bryan Robson's shoulder was always popping out, once even at the World Cup finals if memory serves me right.

A few of the comments above correct.

I watched Mick's interview after the game.

Said he couldn't remember what was wrong with Ng but he should be OK for Watford.

He so said that Bagan probably doesn't need an operation. But said that his experience with other players in the past, is that dislocated shoulders pop back out relatively easily without having an operation.

Best option is probably for Bagan to have surgery. Osei-Tutu nearly back and he can fill in at left back - as can Ciaron Brown.

He was also asked if Bacuna will be asked to play at full back. Mick just gave a one word answer - "no".
