The West Wing

Thu Mar 04, 2021 11:18 pm

Just started this recently and now on season 4. Smashing out 4 or 5 episodes a day. Absolutely engrossed.

I think it’s in my top three shows.

If you haven’t seen it give it a go.

Not seen it, might give it a watch.

However I finally started watching Line of Duty recently and would highly recommend that to anyone who hasn't watched it.

Just about to watch the final episode of Series 5, so I'm pleased to hear that the sixth series is starting in a couple of weeks.

I think I heard this new series, Bloodlands, was written by a producer from Line of Duty so I might watch the episodes that have been released of that as well. Seems to be getting good reviews.

I gave up after the first episode, I'll have another look and give it a go

What are the other two shows?

A great series, Neil

Another one I've been rooted to is 'This Is Us'; about the lives of the unusual siblings and their parents. It's all emotions run into one (amusing, sad, enlightening, etc.) and if the first two or three episodes don't grip you, then best left alone but I think you'll enjoy...lots! :ayatollah:

I was actually torn whether to put Better Call Saul over Breaking Bad. When I was balls deep in Better Call Saul I thought it was better than Breaking Bad. But I watched a couple of BB recently so I’m back that way.

I think when the next series of BCS comes out I’ll be changed round again. I love his wife.

I’m really worried what happens to her.

Next season is the last.

I also have sopranos on my short list. Watched that recently.

Americans is number one for me. I was watching it after my broke my wrist at the Euros in 2016 and I was on tramadol. I used to hallucinate I was in the show.

Such an amazing show. Won lots of awards in the states.

I loved The Americans too but if you can get Prime, I thoroughly recommend Justified, which is my favourite series of all time. After 2 episodes I was completely hooked and binge watched the rest.

Just finished Breaking Bad. Very good. Surprised it took me so long to get around to watching it.

Another to add to your list... How to get away with murder (Netflix). Very addictive and well made.

Try House Of Cards and Veep one serous , one a clever comedy , both good at explaining the American political systems

Designated Survivor is another good American politics one if you like that. It's on Netflix with Kiefer Sutherland.

Comedy's... Curb your enthusiasm is IMO the greatest show ever. Especially when much of the dialogue is unscripted.

I enjoyed the first few seasons of Homeland... The first season in particular was outstanding

The Americans is superb. Our own Matthew Rhys is the lead.

Line of duty And Broadchurch are both brilliant.

The Missing (UK version) is also one of the most compelling TV I've seen. I think especially as I'm a child protection specialist that has been involved in similar cases.

A recommendation for some proper popcorn TV is snowpiercer. Very entertaining. An older series that I also really enjoyed was Burn Notice about a burned spy dumped in Miami.

Just watched tonight's installment of Bloodlands.

Very very good and James Nesbitt is outstanding in it.

Final episode next week before series six of Line of Duty starts the following Sunday :thumbright:
