So, Boro have tied down Warnock to another season.

So, Boro have tied down Warnock to another season. Smart move, allowing time to plan for next year.

At what point to Cardiff make the call on Mick McCarthy? Can't let it dangle for too long. Does he deserve a crack at the whip next year based on these 10 games?

For me YES :thumbright: :bluebird:

Needs to be sorted ASAP. No doubt he's attracting attention from other clubs. He seems invested in city though so liked to think he wouldn't be tempted away if more money comes in from elsewhere

It does need to be asorted ASAP, first of all Big Mick now knows all our players, who to clear out & keep etc

Even if we fail this season, for me there is NO failure, Big Mick kept us up :thumbright: :bluebird:

Football improved and has taken us on an amazing run :thumbright: :thumbright: :bluebird: :bluebird:

A definite yes from me.
Hopefully they’ve sorted it verbally and it just needs the paperwork to be done.

I Think Mick would probably want to be assured that at least some funds would be available to make some tweaks for next season but perhaps more importantly confirmation that none of our best players would be sold unless a ridiculous offer was made for them.

By that I mean £20m plus for Keiffer or £10m plus for NG as examples.

If we can keep the core of this side together, perhaps sign Ojo and get Tomlin fit enough that we don't miss Wilson when he goes back (a big ask I know) then mabe next season with Mick in charge we could give it a real good go at getting promoted.

However, with the lack of crowds, the ongoing pandemic, the end of the parachute payments, a number of players on high wages, it will be a tough enough season financially without the above.

As you know Annis,I usually wait till around a quarter of a season to make a call on any new manager of ours, I do believe MM has done enough to earn a crack at a longer term with us, and we need to act sooner, rather than later,as if this run continues, he will be on the radar of a few clubs, as he is already in most likelihood. :old: :bluebird:

Paul, I can see this given his abject success in his games since his arrival :ayatollah:

Initially, I said I'd prefer to see him kept 'lean' for the remainder of this season with the promise of a deal in front of him subject to us not falling off the shelf, like with did with 'Arris

But, for me and others, things have changed and the guy has both worked wonders with the squad of players and shown his experience of a manager who can get a good side going...

So 'El Committee' should go get hime tied down; the club would benefit, the team would benefit and the supporters (or most of) would welcome it, too!

With regard to Neil Warnock, I'm happy for him and welcome his character back for (at least) another season

I loved it when he said he didn't want to retire with no fans in the stadiums; even in away games it would allow some clubs supporters, like Bristol City, the opportunity to afford him their customary welcome and gestures of appreciation...

I still chuckle tat that Wolves game a few years ago where he looked at the camera (after a 3-2 Bluebirds win) and said "I always like coming here, the Wolves fans seem to like me. But one thing confuses me though, I've never worked in a bank in my life...!"

Pure class and, assuming we or they don't go up, it will be great to afford him a warm and appreciative welcome in front of the CCS crowd before the game and then the traditional 'banter' once it kicks off...he wouldn't have it any other way! :notworthy: :laughing6:

When he was appointed I must admit I was a No ( omg ) ere we go again but to be honest he’s old school which we knew and as brought the best out of the players and MM and TC have been absolutely fantastic todate with what as been turned around rumours Celtic go ere go there give him a two year contract and back him wisely and he will give you attractive football - don’t let him settle in now just to get contract extended and lose out offer him a decent package with a small pot to play with for next season : IMO awe won’t get much better
