Bacuna:
‘It’s been a good run for us since the manager has been in. I was coming off the bench, trying to do my best for the team and today he wanted some fresh legs. I think we’ve done brilliantly as a team. It’s a nice new position and it’s suiting me. I’m just doing my best.’

Big Mick on Bacuna:
‘When he’s come on, he’s done really well. He’s always contributed, so it’s lovely to see him get his goals in a really good performance. He can wander around, pick the ball up and run in behind for you. He’s a good, technical footballer and he showed that today.’

Was amazed to read that his two goals against Derby were only his second and third goals for us the other one was as long ago as November 2019 in a home game against Stoke. Not a great record for a player who is an attacking midfielder. He has a great shot on him but it's usually not on target. Let's hope he develops a taste for scoring.

He wasn’t actually played as an attacking midfielder though was he? Defensive or right back. Plus with the exception of tomlin, we haven’t played a system that fitted an “attacking midfielder”, certainly not one centrally. And tomlin was wedged In because he was playing so well carrying the team.

A pleasantly surprising resurgence from Bacuna; and he'll want
'family bragging rights' on Friday night!

We've got good competition for places up the top end, it's great news we haven't had that for a while and Tommo about to come back too!

Thought he took both his goals really well and looked like a genuine striker! I had no idea that he that in his locker.

Not being funny Bluebina but is this a wind up? or sarcasm, or sniggering, or do you know something!!!!

He would not deserve a place as our waterboy at he moment, granted things can change and get less rosy, but would you even put him on the bench at present?

Seems to me Tomlin isn't a McCarthy player
Whilst he can certainly change matches in his cameo appearances, he has rarely done a full shift in a Bluebirds shirt and looks nowhere closer to doing so right now...
