Harry Wilson drops to the bench. Ojo in for Murphy up top. No Lee Tomlin in the squad still
NO LEE TOMLIN ONCE AGAIN.
Team news verdict
Harry Wilson drops to the bench in favour of Leandro Bacuna tonight. You just get the sense that Mick McCarthy really fancies Bacuna, he talks him up at every opportunity and keeps playing him in that advanced midfield role.
Whether that's his best position, or if he is better than Wilson in that role, is another question entirely.
Sheyi Ojo in for Josh Murphy is the other change, which is perhaps a little more predictable.
It's surprising McCarthy has not opted for a few more changes, it must be said. Will Vaulks out for Joe Ralls is the obvious one, of course.
But Vaulks has been largely excellent in recent weeks so you can't knock McCarthy for sticking with him again.
Another healthy bench for City tonight, however there is no Lee Tomlin. It was thought he might rear his head after missing the under-23s game last night, however that is not the case.
Great to see Rubin Colwill reinstated on the bench, Tom Sang drops out of the squad all together from the weekend.
For the visitors, former Bluebird David Marshall misses out after his back injury against Nottingham Forest last Friday.

I will say strongly Lee Tomlin has cost our club £millions and 50 appearances in more than 3 yrs , NO where near good enough.

That's a decent line-up with some great options from the bench...
Thought a few of our players looked (in Nukes words

) 'fooked' on Saturday and in need of a rest. Thankfully, we now seem to have a squad that can cope...

Not surprised there's been changes. Murphy and Wilson needed a rest.
Bacuna and Ojo have done well after coming on recently so it makes sense to start them tonight.
Moore needs a rest as well, would expect him to be replaced after an hour or so.
Good team selection in the circumstances.

Totally agree Annis.
The problem is that he still has another year left on his contract after this season and I can't see another team picking up his wages that he's getting now.
Only seems to get match fit and start playing well when he needs a new contract.

Be interesting to see how how long Keifer lasts hopefully we can get a couple of goals up and give him a rest. For me there can be a problem with Ojo and Bacuna in the same team as they both tend to go on runs which end up with them losing possession rather than inter pass the ball. You can have one of those type of players in midfield but two could be problematic.
Obviously the manager fells we simply can't start without Keifer in the team.

Hoilett for Bacuna for me

Derby County XI: Roos; Wisdom, Shinnie, Edmundson, Jozwiak, Mengi, Clarke, Sibley, Gregory, Buchanan, Baningime.
Subs: Idem, Forsyth, Bird, Waghorn, Byrne, Kazim-Richards, McDonald, Knight, Watson.

Hmm not sure I like the look of pack, vaulks and bacuna in the middle. Taken a lot of creativity out of the team and we seem to invite a lot of pressure when bacuna has come on as a sub in recent games. Gladly be wrong though!

Kazim-Richards on the bench? I will be delighted with that if its remains that way till KO.
