"Max Watters wasn't in the squad to play Middlesbrough as a selection decision, not due to injury.

He hasn't had a game since QPR when he got taken off after 55 minutes.

Ciaron Brown hasn't played since he came back. He wasn't in the squad either.

The two of them trained much harder yesterday, had a better session.

They'll be in tomorrow (Sunday) with us and they're playing on Monday in the Under 23s.

I need to see them play. I think they both need 90 minutes.

That's my decision, and I've got more than adequate cover without them so they'll be playing Monday."

The Under 23's are doing well of late and a good Game Time for players .

With all these games coming up - I can see a few players getting their chance in the next coming months

With you on this,and one thing I've picked up on from MM, during interview when Glatzel left,he said he had no worries about playing watters. Yet to date,hasn't even brought him on gp for last 15 mins, when cruising?? Now it's he needs to see him play.
Let's hope some time with a good group doing well,will help the lad.

The jury is out with me on Max, but I have a feeling he wont be a Championship player for long or shall we say a good Championship player.

Ciaron Brown, I feel the same way about him as well.

There is also a massive gap between a lot of the U23's and our first team if we want to challenge for promotion.

Stepping up in grade he’s probably got a bit of “ am I good enough “ going on in his head which would effect anybody’s confidence. A half decent appearance and a goal may well help him kick on.

I think both players could make it they need to stand up be more aggressive, Max needs to take his chance, chase everything and get in amongst the defenders and get stronger. Ciaron needs to stop taking chances,do the basics.

The problem for Watters is that I appears Mark Harris has impressed the manager more in training. He's far more likely to stand in for Moore.

Yes he obviously thinks hes not ready for 1st team action which is fair enough.... so basically only cover was Harris on bench! So to me he should have put him on at least it would have put energy into attack as everytime ball went to moore we went nowhere as didn't have legs to beat defender ..... did we have an effort 2nd half? Perhaps put it down to NW tactics in stiffling our play.....but if mm does same on tues can only see a defeat sometimes got to trust the players you put on bench.

Watters was a strange purchase. One for the future probably. Its a problem area of Moore gets injured. He was knackered yesterday and he won’t get a rest in international week.
