Barnsley - Play off contenders?

Thu Feb 25, 2021 10:29 am

Being truthful, I have never really taken notice of Barnsley.

They have always been mid to bottom half of the table and we mostly seem to do quite well against them.

They've been on good form recently, with a game in hand. Could this be the year they get to the play offs?

Could end up ;

3. Watford
4. Swansea
5. Cardiff
6. Barnsley

(I know, I know - we've got to get there first)

If you put us and Barnsley in play off spots you should really put Jack bastards in automatic’s.
But yes Barnsley at the moment real candidate’s for a play off spot.

Have they got squad strength in depth though I wonder.

This is the key point for all teams, it's been a fast and frantic season, the best squads will come through the next three months as there are bound to be more injuries for all teams, I pray we don't lose Moore or Morrison again!

They have some good players to and if they do not go up I can see some of the Premier clubs coming in for these players. I watched them against the Jacks were they lost 2-0 but they were very unlucky in that game. I reckon the save of the season was made by the Jacks keeper from the Barnsley midfielder Mowett. I can't see him being there next season. Also the guy we showed interest in, Cauldwell, was awesome in that game. I can see them making the playoff hopefully with us.

they were expecting to have a decent season but got off to an awful start { no wins in the first 7 } ..changed manager and have been slowly making progress since...

They certainly have a better looking run of fixtures than the rest of us. No game is easy but i would swap fixtures with them.

Right now everyone down to Preston in 14th are play-off contenders.

All it takes is a few wins, and anyone can be right up there - as we've found out ourselves.

But everyone will drop points multiple times between now and the end of the season, us included.

It's impossible to predict. The only thing I'd feel confident predicting is that Norwich will finish in the top two, and that's not even certain.
