True things that nobody believes

Just a bit of fun

What true things have happened in your life that when you tell people they never believe?

Mine would be ;

2009 I think it was, Darren Purse got sent off for us away to QPR (as well as Miguel Comminges). My dad wrote to the FA to complain that he met that particular referee the night previous whilst out having a drink who had stated that he hated Cardiff and Darren Purse in particular. Cardiff didn't even appeal but a day or so later his red got over turned

Probably other factors in it but we now know it as my old man getting Purse's red rescinded!

He was more than happy to leave Comminges red alone :laughing6:

Just out of interest, who was the referee?

It was Lee Probert

Really disliked him - always seemed to do very poorly when he was in the middle

Never! Your old man must have had good connections to the FA!

I was once asked to get players signatures on a match programme after a game for mate. We'd lost and it was chucking if down.

I took the programme home, scribbled about 10 'signatures' on the programme and said 'There ya go mate'

Felt really bad when he was chuffed and re ally grateful!( just glad he didn't try a d sell it on eBay!!)

We were playing Bristol City at home at CCS when Nicky Maynard (who was playing for Bristol City at the time) got injured and received treatment in front of the Ninian Stand just by where I was sitting.

I shouted out "Hey Nicky why are you wasting your time playing for the carrot crunchers why not come and play for us instead?" NM didn't answer but there was a surprised look on his face.

Of course not long after he did sign for us so I claimed an assist in the signing ;) In fact those around me who remembered the incident claim I should have taken up as a football agent

Not many believe we’re travelling through Space at about 67,000mph.. can’t see why, would’ve thought it was fairly obvious

Absolutely genuinely my son said at the start of the 2012 season that we were going to win the League Cup - obviously, we didn't, but we couldn't have gone any closer... We didn't miss a single game in that cup run, and once we got to the semis, I stopped laughing and started to believe we actually might too :bluebird: :bluebird: :bluebird:

Some still struggle to understand that we are and always will be the number one club in Wales. :bluescarf:

When i was a kid I predicted the final score of the Welsh Cup final live on S4C.

Was City vs. Rhyl. Stan Boardman was their Chairman and he had a camera crew following him as he went in. He saw me with my City shirt on and came over to me and said:

"Eh Kid woss the score gunna be then?"

"9-0 to City" I replied

"Ahhh gerout" said Stan.

"Ok, 5-0 then" I answered.

We won 5-0 but sadly my exciting future as a pundit never really took off after that for whatever reason. I blame Boardman myself, reckon he spoke to people in high places to make sure.

I've often thought that if we could just speed the rotation of the Earth up a little bit so say from 1,000 mph it currently is to 1,200 mph or something then we would all float around instead of having to walk - which would be quite cool.

Actually just googled it and we'd need the earth to spin 17 times faster. so 17000mph. The floating would be nice but we'd probably all get quite dizzy I guess.

Bill Shankly left Cardiff City for Lovells
Athletic because they were paying
more money.
