He scored the winner for Orient against us in our last home game of the 77/78 season. We were already safe and showed no desire to win the match or even try to draw it. Probably the most 'dodgy game' I ever saw at Ninian Park.

If I recall we had played loads of games in a short period of time to drag our self safe in the game before. We were knackered- no squads of thirty then and only one sub. I think it was Charlton who went down and who were "on the beach" from Easter thinking they were safe and lost a number of games to sides who they should have picked up points against. They grizzled about it but only had themselves to blame.

Kitchen sinks Swan....still my favourite Echo headline after he scored in a 1- 0 win over our neighbours down West

I remember it well as I was directly behind the goal with a perfect view. Always seems a bit nearer when you’re behind goals.

When was that then?. Peter kitchen scored when we drew away to Swansea on 18th April 1981.1-1 draw. He never scored winner unless it was another game?.

There was talk of “money changing hands“ after that. It was a terrible game to watch as a City fan.

As for Kitchen, well he wasn’t here that long but did well for City, a decent goal scoring striker.
