Personally didn't think either penalty should have been given in the Southampton v Wolves game.

No, my point is the penalty given to Wolves was the wrong decision but not giving a penalty to Southampton was the right decision.
I don't think either of them were penalties.

How can the officials get it so wrong? Like said Southampton claim better than wolves one by a mile yet they see them as different to extent they dont give it... if give one have to give other or as handball rule changed during game?

That's true.
There's no consistency, that's the problem. I saw that Ole said he had no complaints about the West Brom goal today but was annoyed because Man Utd had a goal just like that disallowed a few weeks ago.

Tony that's the point of this thread are the official in premier league the worst in Europe or is it handball rule thats to blame? Musnt forget recent events when red cards were overturned after both officials agreed when no one thought they were and all said they'd be rescinded? I've previously said var was to blame but obviously it's the officials who are poor at making easy decisions..... var needs to be used only if ref asks for it not var telling ref what to do.... those 2 handballs love to hear how they were different and why blatant handball was not given when more questionable one was? "Bizarre "

To be fair, the VAR decisions are even worse in Spain and Italy.
They've had VAR for even longer as well.
Handball in Spain and Italy are given like they were at the start of the season in the Premier League. Which we were all saying were ridiculous handball decisions.
They also seem to referee the game differently than in this country. Yellow cards are given for far less in Spain and Italy. If bookings were given in this country for the same offences they are in Spain and Italy, there would be 8+ cards a game.
A bit strange, given it's still football and the same rules (other than slight differences in the handball rule).

Refs in Europe have always been finicky when it comes to yellow cards! What is clearly happening is players in premier league teams are falling over at mearest touch by opponents finger or toe knowing that var will see contact (using slow motion) and very high percentage of such contact pens are given... ned if you look at the pens given this season you'll see 90%+ of attacking players are moving away from goal and manipulate their foot in front of defender to initiate contact to gain pen.... you will even see defender in possession going to clear ball and attacking player put foot in front of defender even though he knows wont get ball just to claim a foul and they're given... to me var unintentionally as made decision making even more chaotic and inconsistent as two officials have say in decisions instead of one? And as we know all decisions are subjective and unfortunately it seems var and ref not on same hymn sheet when it comes to what is of isnt a pen!

Yeah, that's getting worse definitely.
Gary Neville pointed out that Tammy Abraham tried to win a penalty tonight, by putting his foot where Jamal Lascelles was about to kick the ball. Thankfully the referee didn't fall for it.
Ended up getting injured because of it and you could say that was karma.

Yes serves him right! Been saying it for ages now players manipulating var due to it micro managing incidents? Why does it need to get involved if ref is 2yds away and makes a decision only for var to question it! Thats not what var is for.... but like tonight and wkend officials appear to be getting wise to players manipulation lets hope it continues otherwise football is going to be sterile with non contact in area .

Totally agree with that.
VAR decisions have mostly been much better this weekend. Only poor game for it was Southampton v Wolves like you said.
